Why Can't I Slam?

I can’t slam and every time I try I just hit the ground and nothing happends!! This is horrible.

  1. Wrong section
  2. When are you trying to slam? What platform?

First of all, sorry that I said this in the wrong area. This is my first time using these forums. Secondly, I’m on PC and I had just moved my xbox save files to my PC version. I simply cannot slam anywhere and when ever I try I just softly hit the ground.

Weird. Have you looked into your settings if you have everything OK? If yes, wait for more responses and If nothing helps, try new save or verify game cahce

If it isn’t affected by a physx setting or something, then other obvious things: make sure you have your Oz kit equipped and it didn’t somehow disappear on you. Second thing, check the location - some places don’t let you slam because of artificial gravity (you can slam, but I often find I need to double-jump off something first.)

You got to be one with the ball to slam, Id recommend tons of training and you might some day pull it off.

In summary you posted in the wrong section.

Okay so actual help:
Check setting which button you slam with, if it doesnt work try rebinding it.

As someone mentioned, check to see if your O2 kit is equipped, also if you’re trying to slam in a map with normal gravity it’s very iffy and most of the time it won’t work.

Oz Kit - check
No Gravity - check
BL:TPS - check

= Problem :open_mouth:

You also can’t slam if an enemy is beneath you. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve tried to slam and had a Scav beneath me. Bastards.

if you hit the jump button before landing, while still in the downward motion of the slam, you won’t slam. Maybe your spamming your jump button during your slams?

Do you actually have an oz kit equipped? I’ve seen several people be missing a shield, oz kit, or class mod and wonder why they’re dying so easily/can’t double jump/skills aren’t very effective.

Also, you do need to slam for a certain height for it to actually register. If the zone has it’s own gravity fields, you will have a hard time butt slamming anything.

I know this post is old but for anyone having this issue just try holding the slam button until you hit the ground.

I was having a similar (probably identical) issue. I am on PC and using a controller. Slam wasn’t working so I went through all the suggestions I found but nothing worked. I even tried other oz kits. I ended up trying my keyboard and using the ctrl key, slam worked fine. So after more controller testing I found the problem. It appears to be that if you tap b to slam it starts the slam (indicated by the sudden downward movement and the little red triangle with a hero pose in it.) but then it stops before you hit the ground (red triangle guy doing pose vanishes.).

It would be great if this was fixed to be the same as the keyboard and actual Xbox copy of the game (one quick press to slam).

Ya well I sense they’re developing then porting with the occasional error or something you’d not normally do on keyboard. They chose the “C” key which unless you’ve got double-jointed fingers or type with your thumbs too is in a very unusual keyboard location for gaming so it takes constant double-think and adjust and slam for me and that’s just a slow & painful process for something which requires split-second timing to work right.

I just discovered the source of the issue, at least for me. In the in-game options go to GAMEPLAY and turn on CROUCH TOGGLE. This made the slam work the way I wanted (one quick button press).

I have no clue why it wasn’t already on for my Xbox controller but the CTRL key worked fine.

Exactly - in computer gaming the C key is traditional for crouching which is fine - you never have to crouch quickly and crouching isn’t a complicated motion. But for a strategic movement like slamming, I’d prefer a more accessible dedicated key rather than toggling the C out of crouch and into slam. No big deal - just my pref. I’ve experimented with other keys to use as a dedicated slam key and have been using the “-” which doesn’t conflict with anything and is convenient for most righties.
