The Chilled SniperI have tested this build since the DLC was released and I hope it is consistent.

The Huntress
Markswoman (5/5):
Critical Damage, a unanimous choice for a build based on sniper rifles, also, 100% more Aim Speed because why not?

Only the Best (5/5):
Gun Bullet Damage and Speed for the literal meaning of DPS. Powerful and fast.

Culling the Herd (5/5):
For a pure DPS build, more gun damage is always good.

Long Ranger Killer (1/1):
A point which depending on your situation can help considerably, and for the cost of just one point, it is worth.

Silver Lining (1/1):
Spending that point depends on your choice, I distributed in this way because I think it’s interesting ‘conserve’ bullets because some of snipers rifles consume a lot of ammo (in the case of Vladof). This point is not really necessary.

I Never Miss (5/5):
Like the Critical Ascensi0n Zero’s Skill Point, this point is the key for the smash of the enemies.

Magic Bullet (1/1):
A little bit of health regeneration, because why not? Remain stable is important.

Custom Loads (1/1):
Another skill point that depends on your taste. Not much necessary, I put because I think is a cool skill point.

Cold Money
Avalanche (5/5):
Good skill point. Freeze enemies while having a Sniper Rifle in your hands is very interesting, facilitates the chance of getting critical damage. Also, increase the cryo damage, which is very nice.

Bitter Riposte (1/5):
Good for freezing this enemies and makes the game easier as fuk.

Short Summer (5/5):
Increase the weapon damage and stabilizes the cooldown rate.

Frigid Touch (4/5):
I put some skill points here because it is interesting to have some health based on your freeze chance, as this skill tree is focused on cryo element.

Fragment Rain (1/1):
I put point in this gamechanger skill because is nice to have cryo damage when you have too much enemies in the screen. The Ice Fragments spawns is really cool.

Frostbite (5/5):
Increase cryo damage, because why not?

Cold Advance (5/5):
A little bit of Critical Hit Damage, because what the hell not? Also, increase the Action Skill Duration.

Whiteout (5/5):
This skill point is ridiculous and too much overpower. Makes the damage from enemies turn into dust when you active your action skill.

Polar Vortex (1/1):
I put a skill point here for getting Synergy with Bitter Riposte.

Wintertide (1/1):
Interesting skill point, because after killing an enemy you will give your arms a Cryo Effect, which is very nice because you do not have to change your weapon to freeze your enemy. Also, increase the cryo damage.

Slot 1 – Longnail/Droog
I like the Vladof’s Sniper Rifles because they are fast and powerful. Longnail is a cool gun, and Droog we already know from BL2. I know that the Machine is impossible to get at the moment, but in the future he can be fixed. This is my choice for the Slot 1.

Slot 2 – Skullmasher/Pitchfork/Snider
I like to have another type of sniper on slot 2 are kinda because of different enemies in this game. Unfortunately we do not have a great variety of sniper rifles good until the moment, so these are my options for Slot 2.

Slot 3 – IVF/Bullpup/Rosie/Torrent
It is important to have an weapon in other type in Slot 3 in the case of missing ammo with their sniper rifles. You can use any weapon you want, I put some I have in my inventory. The preference is that you have a cryo weapon variety of any other weapon you have, because this build focuses on cryo element (this serves for ALL slots).

Slot 4 – Probe/Nukem/Badaboom/Cryophobia
These weapons are for emergencies, to avoid Fight For Your Life, or if you fall to FFYL, get the Second Wind.

Shield – Reogenator/Sham/Avalanche
You can use any shield in the game that will not matter, depends on your choice. I put these shields because I would have in my inventory. Sham and Reogenator, in my opinion, are universal shields, and Avalanche because of Cryo Nova and Cryo Spike Damage.

Grenade – Cryo Grenade/Quasar/Storm Front
It depends on your choice. I like the Cryo Grenade as priority one because of the numerous buffs in the Skill Tree. Quasar and Storm Front, because in my opinion are universal grenades.

Class Mod – Celestial Baroness/Chronicler of Elpis/Foxy Big Game Hunter/Indifferent Gentry/Frost Queen
The Celestial Baroness is for they want a bonus for all skills (cryo/sniper). The Chronicler of Elpis is for the people they want a bonus for cryo, but this class mod have bonuses to skills point which we not spend, so I will show other 3 options, particularly my favorites.

The Foxy Big Game Hunter is a class mod for those who want more bonuses using the sniper, and that makes the game so easy because it’s so ridiculous when you have +6 points I Never Miss (7692% more damage with 999 stacks). With 300-400 stacks you destroy almost everything in 1-Shot.

Another option for this build is the Indifferent Gentry, which increases the bonus of cryo stuff. It also increases the cooldown Rate, which is important because with this skill you establish a synergy with the rest of the tree.

And we have Frost Queen, which buffs cryo damage. I prefer the class mod Gentry instead of the Queen. Because with Gentry you benefit the rest of the tree when activate your skill action, increasing the cooldown rate is interesting. In addition, the Queen buff cryo damage, and we may be using other elements instead of cryo.

Oz Kit – Precision Strike/Arctic Duality Cryo/Arctic Duality Laser/Sniper
Precision Strike because increase the critical hit damage. Also, buff accuracy, which is very nice. Duality for the people want more cryo or sniper damage.

AWESOME BUILDDD! I was thinking about going the same way lol.

No love for Large Caliber though? I was thinking that over Whiteout, I mean if you’re gonna be mainly sniping then you don’t want enemies close to you anyway, then again as I’m typing this I’m thinking Whiteout is probably a better option for raids…what do you think?

If you get a Celestial Baroness COM at lv60 then maybe you could put one point into Bitter Riposte, I saw some gameplay with it and it freezes pretty nicely.

Big Game Hunter / Queen COMs might be welcome as well.

Definitely looking forward to trying this out when I get to lv60!

I plan to play the exact same build. It has good synergy between the trees and offers a well rounded poll of options. Large caliber would hurt that by limiting weapon choices too much. I’m still curious about the legendary coms.

Thanks dude. About the class mods, I have too much to learn about Aurelia’s Class Mods and I will be updating after I learn more informations. About the Large Caliber, this is a skill point for raid bosses in my opinion. Of course in this build we have flexibility to move between raiding and mobbing, but Vladof Snipers simply eat the ammo and I preferred to opt for damage reduction.

I would use Large Caliber against Raid Bosses or other bosses in particular, especially if the Gearbox launch other because Sentinel is a horrible boss.

Large Caliber work very well with ‘Wait for It …’ to 1-Shot Builds, but like I said, to raid bosses that may appear in the future because Sentinel has multiple phases and when you hit a shot you lose all their stacks with their skill.

True. I believe I read that Large Caliber is currently bugged - you get the damage bonus but not the mag size penalty. So you can take advantage of that for now if you’d like haha.

Is aim speed just how fast you go from hip fire view to scope, or is it something else? What are the benefits of increased aim speed as a sniper? I’m kinda new to sniping overall so i just wanted to clarify that.

Aim Speed is not as necessary when you have a Action Skill that freezes enemies for you, since they are obviously properties. When they are not frozen, the only enemies that this is really useful are those suffering with gravity and perform super jumps, making it difficult to use with snipers.

However, I spend points in Marksworman for more Critical Damage, the aim speed is only included in the package.

LC isn’t bugged. It was just one person who thought it would but it seems he messed something up.

Oh word! Thanks for that.

I suggest putting two points into Duchess. You’ve got Celestial Baroness and Skullmasher in the gear. Why not use Duchess to make the Skullmasher pin-point accurate?

This is my planned build:

Using the Skullmasher is annoying now lol…it seems like every pellet needs to hit for an I Never Miss stack.

oh, that’s bad. Looks like I’ll have to choose between the skill or the gun.

There is always Muckamuck

Duchess is not very necessary in my opinion because you will be freezing enemy, hit them is absurdly easy in this condition. Also, we have Precision Strike Oz Kit, wich increase the acuraccy.

I put Skullmasher and Pitchfork as a second option for large enemies, bosses (Iwajira, Bosun, Deadlift, etc) since they are easier to hit. For Mobbing, the best options are Vladof or Maliwan Snipers.

But as the friend pointed as well, you can use Muckamuck if you prefer

Looking over your build and gear selection wouldn’t it be better to take some points out of skills like Whiteout, Frigid Touch, and I Never Miss in favor of reaching Quality Not Quantity in the Contract tree? That way even if you only put 1 point in that skill you get at least a 30% bonus to base gun damage. Giving up a bit of melee protection, which in my opinion you should not need much of if you are using a sniper build to begin with, 2-4% regen, and def give up 5/5 in I Never Miss since you lose all stacks if you miss once, and there will be times you miss.

Personally I have never gotten I Never Miss above 100 stacks before missing and at least 90-95% of those stacks were 1 shot kills. I Never Miss is just too dependent on random NPC movement to be of much use for very long before you lose the stack, I have missed several dozen times due to an enemy juking to the side and finally just put 1 point in that skill instead of 5/5.

Also with the 30% base gun damage your crits are massively boosted and if you can put 5/5 you get at least a 50% buff to base gun damage.

How is it possible to achieve higher stacks?
By using sniper rilfe only on frozen targets, or if the target is slow /standing still ?

I would not use Precision strike in a sniper build, those buffs are active only when airborn.
