Some Borderlands 3 Ideas I have

I have 3 ideas for classes and other weapon ideas

Weapon Ideas:

New Weapon Type: Elemental Flamethrowers

+Usually high clip size, short reload speed, high rate of fire, and 100% elemental effect chance

-Short range, does little damage without elemental effect damage

Cross-Manufacturer Weapons

Some weapon could have two manufacturers on them, allowing them to have two special features from two different manufacturers

i.e. Hyperion + Jakobs Shotgun that can fire as fast as you can hit the trigger and becomes more accurate as you shoot it
Maliwan + Dahl SMG that has burst fire and elemental damage

Stats would also balance each other out on a side note

Class Ideas

Loader

Action Skill: Combat Protocols
Combat Protocols would function the same way as Vaulthunter.exe, the Loader will analyze the situation and turn into the appropriate loader or summon surveyors.

Loader Combat Protocols types:
JNK Loader: 50% Damage Resistance
Surveyors: Would function almost exactly as Wilhelm’s Wolf and Saint
PWR Loader: You constantly melee and can’t shoot, also all projectiles that attack your front get deflected back to the sender
BUL Loader: You turn into a bulldozer, and become the equivalent of a vehicle and can run over enemies
HOT Loader: You dual wield two flamethrowers that do critical hit damage only
GUN Loader: Your guns and grenades temporarily gain infinite ammo and a 25% damage bonus
ION Loader: You create a large shield impervious to damage, enemies can still walking in by the way
SGT Loader: You dual wield both guns in your hands and your gun gains no recoil while shooting
RPG Loader: You gain a rocket launcher that fires along with your gun (similar to Wilehlm’s vengeance cannon) also you gain +40% explosive damage and 65% explosive resistance
JET Loader: You fly into the air and turn into a jet, your weapons are replaced with a powerful missle barrage
Moonshot Constructor: A constructor moonshots onto the field and creates clones of you that do half your damage and have half your health, also if you go into fight for your life mode while a constructor is out, you immediately get second wind by being rebuilt by the constructor
EXP Loader: You walk around at +50% movement speed and constantly release shocks, then you release a huge shock nova and enter fight for your life if you fail
WAR Loader: You dual wield two fire cannons and gain 5% health regen a second, you also lose 35% movement speed
Badass Loader: All your stats are doubled and your movement speed is halved, you also moonshot a badass constructor, only available at the end of a skill tree and used when your heath is critical

Nomad

Action Skill: Iron Maiden
You pull up a bullet proof shield and gain +400% melee damage, also your shield temporarily gets moved to the side while shooting

Skill Trees

Elemental Trooper: Focuses on buffing Shock, Incendinary, and Flamethrowers
Torturer: Focuses on Shield and adds midgets to yours shield
Taskmaster: Allows you to control bandits and make them fight for you

Goliath
Action Skill: Rage Out
You go into a rage with 500% Melee damage, 200% Jump speed, you can slam the ground with your fists while jumping by pressing C, and you gain full health on kill. Taking too much damage at once lets you unleash this for free.

Skill Trees

Radioactive: Focuses on Corrosive Damage the same way Krieg’s Hellborn focused on Fire damage
Rager: Focuses on Rage Out and increases your tankiness
Smug Gunner: Focuses on Assault Rifles and guns, allows you to dual wield assault rifles later on, also allows you gain anger management with new helmets to protect your head

I came up with full skill trees, but this new layout is confusing, let me know if you liked any ideas, you can also feel free to post your own

My idea.

6 planets. You start with 4 vault hunters and can unlock 5 more. One is imprisoned on each planet. But the 6 planet is a boss planet. No vault hunters to unlock but just fighting. Not even many quests, maybe even no side quests. Just get there and fight the masses with a epic battle At the end that WILL require help no matter how good your gear is.

5 planets would be your normal game set up. Co op with three others. Maybe 4 or 5 others. The boss planet would be a mmo style. You would need a crew of 10 to 15 for the boss and even the normal battles leading to that boss would be intense. Like your crew of 10 to 15 vs 100 quite a few times before getting to the boss.

The lag though, anyways the planet idea is cool, but they would have to shorten them up to be able to go through 6, perhaps 2-3 in main story and 4 more in dlc add ons? AI Helpers sound annoying as hell though, as they might just sit around do jacksquat. Still, nice idea. I assume new vault hunters would be added into the mix along with the original 3, Athena, Lady Hammerlock, and the Borderlands 2 ones. Also, just to clarify, would you make it so you could swap vault hunters in the same file? That would kind of defeat the purpose of making new files and a lot of other things.

It was just a idea. I’m sure there are system limits but I didn’t worry about those lol. I’m not sure if I would put the character system the same way but if it’s right being able to use all vault hunters in one playthrough could be fun but I feel like the way it works now is probably better.

It would be fun though if you could walk into a bar, walk up to any number of characters (including mr tourge) and buy there services for a while. Need more healing? Hire moxxi. Need more air guitar solos? Hire mr tourge. Need a bullet sponge that will distract enemies? Hire that face mcshooty guy from bdl2 lol

The main thing I want in Borderlands 3 is Borderlands 1 gore. Actually seeing someone’s head explode was the best. Then going up to their body with a shotgun and blowing off the rest of their limbs.

RIP BL1 Gore,and DoTs.

Love the elemental thrower idea OP. I think were long overdue. the bad guys got them IN bl2. Why not us? However I think that 3 "enemy " characters would be too much. Of the 3 I like the loader idea the best.

the idea of a time manipulating siren has being been thrown around on the forum since bl2, and I think we willl see 1 in bl3.

One thing I would love too see however is a reworking of some of the weapon manufacturers gimmicks?

Instead of bandit guns being garbage, why not have their gimmick be to fire multiple pellets in exchange for damage and accuracy? Don’t make all their guns bonkers like the x2 anarchy and mashers from bl1.

Let’s make maliwan all etech! Just reduce the damage on guns less common than purple.

Jakobs bullets ricochet For 15% of their original damage!

Dahls come with thermal sights.

Hyperion hit scans? I hate reverse accuracy…

also the current version of the grenade launcher is garbage. Maybe make the grenades behave different according to your grenade mod? Not copies of your grenade, but copies the type?

I’ve said most of this before so sorry for the repeat.

We also need 8 vault hunters to come with the game. Each one geared towards a certain manufacturer. Here’s my pitch for that.

Jakobs=sir hammerlock
dahl=axton
Vladof=Sal
maliwan=Maya
Hyperion=aurelia
Tediore=gauge
Torgue=TORGUE
bandit=krieg

Lilith, mordy, brick, and athena would be main npcs.
We all want new characters I suggest that they plan for an additional 8 characters for dlc. I would be more than ok with playing g bl3 for as long as it’s supported.

My idea was similar to that of angrywaffle2. Sorta…

There would be planets. A LOT of different ones. And space stations, etc. There are vaults out there, and we have to open them to release the Eridian warriors (like the Destroyer and the Warrior, sorta) within, to help fight this major interstellar war. Simply put, the Eridians themselves can’t spare the manpower to do it, and defend their homeworld, all at the same time.

Why the vault hunters? Well, they have a spaceship city (Sanctuary). They have demonstrated incredible talent for fighting against overwhelming odds and finding the unfindable. Etc. And also, the Eridians figure they’re owed something, after vault hunters on Pandora and Elpis pretty much slaughtered hundreds of Eridian troops of various kinds, looted three of their vaults, killed their Warrior, etc. “You owe us, and we’re calling in that favor right MEOW.”

Now, we know that corporations run pretty much everything. So, as it turns out, each of the vaults we need to find is on a different planet, and those planets fall into the territories of each of the major corporations. SO, first we have to travel, via Sanctuary, to a planet. We have to gain entry to that planet, and while there, we have to abide by its laws. For instance, on the Jacobs world, there’d be NO ELEMENTAL WEAPONS AT ALL. At least, none would be allowed. Something like that. On the Maliwan home world, there’d be nothing BUT elemental tech, and Jacobs and Tediore gear would be straight-up banned. Something like that. OR, as an alternative, the local brand would be all that’s available on that world, by vendor or by drop, and the only way to gain unapproved gear would be via Sanctuary’s vendors.

We’d be able to fast-travel from the planet, or at least its customs station, back-and-forth to Sanctuary, while it’s in orbit. Works like so…

For starters, we have a run at Digistruct Peak, version 2.0. This is pre-deployment training for the Crimson Raiders, and especially for the vault hunters. Any new flashy game features would be introduced here, and there’d be a low-G/zero-Ox area as well. Upon completing that, Lilith and the creepy alien from TPS show up and inform us that it’s time to go. The vault on __________ is ready soon, and we have to be there to open it.

You go back to Sanctuary, recently refurbished and ready for space flight. Go to cut scene. Return to Sanctuary in orbit over the first planet. FT down to the customs station, jump through a few hoops to get through and gain access to the planet. Track down the first vault, via a series of quests. Gain some cool loot peculiar to that planet’s parent company. Blah blah. Find vault, overcome some significant challenge to gain control of it. Creepy alien comes along, shakes his chicken bones, and we’re done here. Time to move on.

Back on Sanctuary, we move on to the next planet. There’s also a portal on Sanctuary, possibly in Pierce Station, to allow you to return to any planet you’ve already visited, to complete any side quests or repeat bosses/badasses for farming loot.

Rinse, repeat, until all the vaults have been found. Then, creepy alien points Lilith and Sanctuary in the direction of the Eridian home world. Final big boss fight there. YAY, we won the day! Awesome!

End cut scene after big boss fight? Video ECHO message from Jeffrey Blake, Interim CEO of the Hyperion Corporation. "This is to notify you, that your adopted home world of Pandora is now off-limits to you, vault hunters and Crimson Raiders. The Hyperion Corporation has entered into a joint venture with the Atlas Corporation to exploit the planet’s resources. Vault hunters are kinda ‘whatever’ at first, but NPCs (Tiny Tina, Moxxi, Marcus, Scooter, etc.) are all about, 'Pandora is OUR HOME, and we can’t give it up

Something like that.

A flamethrower would be so much fun :smile:

http://forums.gearboxsoftware.com/t/borderlands-3-not-tps-character-ideas i wrote a whole thing about new characters here

Seeing as lasers have been added, I have an idea for a Legendary Shield.

Name: Spacer
(Well, you’ll be better at choosing one)

Type: Absorbing shield.

Flavor Text:
Spice must flow

Special effect:

When hit by a laser, the shield takes no damage and instead creates a singularity that deals massive electrical damage to everyone, including the wearer (gives the Second wind if anybody else gets caught, though). The singularity is created either on the character with the shield, the enemy with the laser gun, or at the random spot between the two.

I think it’s about time to make this reference, after all.

I’d like to see the Handsome AI Nakiyama develops get loose and uploaded into a larger bot of some kind
