Best way to farm the Gwens Head

Travel to Lynchwood, travel out and save. The bos that contains the Gwens Head will have a chance to span to your left.
If it does not, if you travel into Lynchwood and back out, it might spawn. This is a glitch that works on Xbox-360, but I don’t know about other platforms.

I think you meant travel to Lynchwood and then to the Train Station in the Dust (where you choose sides between the Zaford’s and Hodunks during the Clan War) and save and quit there. I usually do that when farming the Slagga and as a bonus the Gwen’s Head. Also, there is the box inside Ellie’s garage itself that might also contain the Gwen’s Head, which is very close to the Fast Travel. My quest to find an elemental (preferably Fire or Shock) React Gwen’s Head will continue. Thanks!

I prefer farming Elie’s garage: There’s one spawn point inside the garage, very close to the fast travel, and a second one just in front of her place close to the heap of trash (that second one can be seen without going very far so if it’s not there, it’s not a long trek back)

How come @Amazing_Jayman hasn’t seen this thread yet ?

Do either you or @Derch know if the React Gwen’s Head can have an element? That is what I have been trying to ascertain, since I have never found a React Gwen’s Head with an element and the max stats list is at least somewhat ambiguous. Also, all of the React Gwen’s Head pistols pictured on the Gwen’s Head variant wiki page have No Element. Granted, the wiki is not always right.

It’s not obvious because when the forum changed, most of the stuff was lost, but we have quite an extensive knowledge base here, starting with a few Vets that are still around

Some of the stuff we had was mind-blowingly detailed.

No, the wiki is not always right, and yes, you can get a damage prefix (React) and any element, just the odds of that are low.

The Gwen’s head can spawn with elements yes, and it can also spawn with accessories. I don’t remember what accessory the react prefix is, but I believe it’s the prefix for the fixed Tediore grip, so that would mean no element nor accessory. An elemental Gwen’s head will not have the react prefix. (assuming i’m not mistaken about the prefixes… it’s been a while)
Neutralizing is the damage prefix

When I have a decent amount of free time, I will farm the box in Ellie’s Garage to see if I can find an OP8 elemental React Gwen’s Head. I will likely need a substantial amount of free time, considering the item can spawn in one of 5 locations and with various prefixes and elements

react is dahl +fire rate.

React is ALSO the prefix for the Tediore grip on a Dahl pistol when it has no accessories or elements. Yeah, it’s silly and confusing.

All these guns have the same fire rate and only about half of them have the react prefix

I would try to go for a Neutralizing prefix instead of the react one. The GE’s fire rate is already plenty fast and a damage boost would be much more efficient IMO

Just do a run through the dust, 4 out of the 5 boxes are easy. Start either in Ellies Garage or the entrance from lynchwood.

From Ellies, hit the box in the garage, then the rock island thing just past the ridge outside of ellies, then the one by the dahl gas station, then hit the one by the lynchwood station, enter lynchwood, exit to the dust and then go the opposite direction, fast traveling back to lynchwood from ellies. repeat.

Since this covers 4 out of the 5 spawn points, this will at least allow for finding a gwen’s head the majority of the time (the last box is a bit annoying to get to for farming runs if that is the one that spawns). From either start point, there is a catch a ride, so moving around is easy. Granted, it can still take a little time to get what your looking for, but this is what I used to do leveling up maya in uvhm to make sure I had something decent for element matching, and never felt too tedious.

Yes, I find it somewhat troubling that ALL of the React Gwen’s Head Pistol variants pictured on the wiki are Non-elemental. Personally I prefer the Fire Rate prefix to damage prefix for Dahl Pistols, with Maya. The Hornet (Corrosive) pistol I use is an OP8 React Hornet (Corrosive). I am interested in the React prefix, since I am in the preliminary stages of a “Speed Kills” Build for Maya that will likely incorporate a Chaotic Evil Cleric COM and a Dahl Allegiance Relic that improves burst fire delay and magazine size. Not a true Dahl Allegiance Build, but at least somewhat of a hybrid.

I am trying to determine if it is possible to acquire a React Gwen’s Head Pistol with an element. I have yet to find an elemental React Gwen’s Head and the max stats for Pistols list is somewhat ambiguous. It would be used in a Maya Build that I am in the very early stages of developing.

I think for the sake of timing, I will save and quit by the Fast travel near Ellie’s Garage and check that area or travel back and forth between the Dust and Sanctuary.
