Please take note that my experiences with these bosses come primarily from UVHM at level 70 as an Enforcer playing alongside a Gladiator.
Personally Shadow Trap is kind of easy to me (Chaotic and long winded but kind of easy), Try to Keep him painted via Laser Guided so I know where he is after he warps and spawns Clones of himself. That and hammer him with the Viral marketer and Absolute Zero while my Girlfriend uses a corrosive IVF. Takes a while but not horrendous (though I know others have had worse bouts against him).
ECLPISE… Between his jumping and stomping Instant killing Wolf (even with the 50% Health & Shield boost… Nice), Swarmers doing up to 171K+ damage with their shock novas at random, missiles firing every 3 to 5 seconds, and obscene Health & Shields demanding the most airtight of OP builds to speed kill, he’s my least favorite of the three.
Honestly EOS is my favorite and to me would have made a fine final boss of his own without ECLIPSE showing himself prior. Outside of Moonshot Blitzes and the Eye of Helios his other methods of attack can be stopped and destroyed and other than aforementioned Swarmers and occasional Badass Glitches demanding my time, if you slow your pacing and destroy his weapons before the third phase it won’t be too bad at all.
Same here. I play coop as well, any character with any other character, and Eclipse has always proven to be the worst boss in Borderlands simply due to the fact that he is always launching those freaking health gate missiles. Even my tankiest characters can only stand it for so long. Add in the fact that they are heat seeking and can find you even in that hollow column, and you have the perfect recipe for a BS boss fight. It takes 20 minutes to kill him (this is regardless of the combo, Athena+ Nisha can’t even do it fast) because you have to hide from his missiles. He did it for 45 seconds straight one times, and he shoots at you the second you enter the Arena, almost always healthgating you. He’s the only boss thats worse to fight with other people.
When I kill him with my Jack solo, the fight takes 5 or 6 minutes. The average time coop is 45 at best, an hour if things are really â– â– â– â– â– â– .
I like EOS too. He’s simple, and doesn’t launch thousands of OP missiles at you so often you can’t shoot him. Shawdow-tp is somewhere in the middle.

Time to try the feature I just learned about:
Which of the following bosses do you hate the most?
ECLIPSE. Shadowtrap was always a cake-walk, plenty of places to hide, shoot around corners, get ammo, etc. At least with EOS there’s plenty of enemies for second winds. Not so much with ECLIPSE.
I would say EOS. If your DPS isn’t high enough he recovers all of his health after the third shield recharge (atleast, that did happen to me…). Eclipse is a bitch to fight aswell but atleast that part of the fight doesn’t ■■■■■■■recharge his health.
Shadow Trap without his second and third form is just a pushover, just make sure you have a DOT on him and he’s easily found between all of his copies.
While that EOS thing sounds like a bug (especially because there are a plethora of bugs EOS has like never reforming after it vanishes to restore it’s shield, it’s weapons are left floating while it’s restoring itself, crashing the game upon death, reappearing in a slanted angle, etc), it doesn’t make the fight any less bull.
You have a point, at least ECLIPSE doesn’t restore it’s health.
I f***ing LOVE Eclipse & EOS. They’re honestly really, really fun!
The only boss I don’t like in TPS is RedBelly as they are really small (hard to hit) and reflect bullets in the first stage.
Bullet reflection? Doesn’t that sound familiar? Oh yeah, that’s right! That’s the mechanic used by the most hated, most bullsh*t boss in BL2, the BA Rex!
As for the rest of the “bosses”, they usually die in one laser disker chuck, so I don’t know what to say about them.
I don’t hate any of them but I got really annoyed when Self-Loathing or Despair, I forgot which one, just disappeared making Shadowtrap’s shield unbreakable forcing me to quit that Mutator round.
I actually find the Sentinel easier and less annoying than Redbelly, all I have to do is use Wolf & Saint’s Laser Guided skill to paint him and throw the Laser Disker.
Athena, yo! Nice to see another person enjoying Eclipse & EOS! Mechanically fun, and it requires not only high DPS, but also some tanking ability from your skills so that’s always fun to play around with.
I love fighting EOS, while ECLIPSE is a pain to me it does make me happy seeing someone enjoy fighting him.
Besides, ECLIPSE may not be the best boss, he is kinda fun sometimes… Unlike Badassasaurus… At least I don’t have to use arena exploits to beat ECLIPSE and he doesn’t deflect bullets…
The only BS thing about eclipse & EOS is the occasional missile barrage, but then again, you can take cover using plentiful covers or use jump pads to escape the missiles of death. Really well done bosses all-round.
