The Infection and Thunderball Fists on Hellborn K

Yeah. Those Maliwan pistols…

I was wondering if it is worth using both for healing with Elemental Empathy since both have a high chance of corrosion or shock, so I can get healed from loaders, like the Hellfire with Bandits. Thoughts?, comments?, NIPPLE SALADS?

EDIT: Thought that the TF had higher shock chance xD, the advice request goes on

The Infection may not be very damaging at OP8 but it can kill things and provide good healing although I would preffer other corrosive weapons with higher dps and fire-rate for better performance at both damage and healing.

Omen, Bitch, Baby Maker…?

Yeah, pretty much any of his powerhouses depending on the necessity; CC, Butcher, Hornet, Bitch, Plasma Casters, Omen (although not that good for buzzards or surveyors). I would probably still do the same to the Thunderball fists and rather use something like a Twister for damage or other weapons with higher rates of fire for an easier time spreading dots.

Then again, shock dots lasts for so little that I don’t think they make that great healers (maybe if you keep firing).

… About the Infection, it does put some fairly damaging dots and you’ll be able to heal quite nicely even from flesh enemies, just keep in mind it doesn’t have a great dps even though it can be used against loaders.

The Infection is more of a hit and run weapon than anything as you can nail a loader before running off to engage its buddies or ducking behind cover. If you slag loaders beforehand it can eat through their health bars fairly quickly.

If you have not used the Infection before than you should know that the projectiles have an arc to them and only go so far before popping. Beyond medium range it is worthless so you do have to get close to use it.

The Thunderball Fists is good at blowing up clumps of enemies if you can get them that close due to its secondary effect. However if you are aiming to strip shields and DoT you may want to look at the Quasar or Stormfront Grenade mods as those are extremely effective. Unless you are playing as Gaige relying on shock damage for any results beyond shield stripping is not recommended.

Gaige can make the Infection work due to the Catalyst COM and EE boost to elemental DoT. If Krieg has something like this so maybe he can make it work. But, iirc, Krieg skills only boost burn DoT unfortunately.

I have one on Gaige but I do not use it a whole lot. The Florentine, Twister, and Pimpernal wipe out Loaders efficiently enough for my liking.

For having a lot of armored enemies there isn’t anyone in Borderlands 2 that actually boost the effectiveness of corrosive weapons by any means; directly anyways. Both Maya and Gaige have skills that boost elemental effect chances but neither have skills that boost the actual damage of corrosive DoT or just damage in general.

Actually, both Evil Enchantress and the Catalyst COM boost the damage instead of chance. This is why Gaige can use the Infection effectively against loaders.
But, being honest, it is a lot harder to do so I do use the Pimpernel too against armored enemies. I dont even have an OP Infection due to how DoT is hurt in the OP levels.

Oh I know; Gaige has one on my end. The only time I have to yank out the Infection is when I fight those Loaders that create shields and are highly resistant to electrical damage. The Florentine though can take care of them surprisingly well in generic UVHM.
