When farming for things from doc. mercy or hunter hellquist

when im farming for the either the infinity pistol or bee shield from doc. mercy or hunter hellquist, or even farming the warrior for a conference call, does having the quest active for any of the above give a better chance to get the legendary?

No, it’s all set at the same value.
The Warrior just has a special exception during the final mission however. If he is killed by the moonshot he is almost guaranteed to drop one of his Legendaries. Unfortunately, he has several Legendaries to drop (including an Orange Handsome Jack Mask and a Purple skin) which makes it more difficult to drop a Conference Call at all as it is only one drop per kill (this also applies to most other bosses too).
If you can, Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep offers better spots for the Bee as Treants can drop them and the Handsome Sorcerer drops the same stuff the Warrior does but with a higher chance and more.

Just letting you know that only the 2 treants you kill for the fruit during the Tiny Tina campaign can drop the bee, but they are farmable, and obviously give you a better chance at getting a bee because there’s 2 treants, as opposed to 1 hunter helquist.

That’s not true, I got Bees from almost every Treant on the map several times, even from the very first once (although that might have been a world drop as insanely unlucky as that is). The bloodfruit Treants are however indeed the quickest and most reliable ones.

Same here. If fact, just yesterday I got back to back Bees from the 2 Treants located where the 2nd Fairy spawns. Bees are pleasantly common in the Forest. I sell a ton of them while farming.

Never got one from that guy. I figured that Treant was programed not to drop it to avoid easy farming.

I don’t really understand that drop myself. It’s only happened once in a crazy amount of attempt and most of them happened when the drop rate was still 1:30. Quite strange.

Indeed. But quite cool too.

I’ve gotten a Bee from the first tree once, on one of my first farming runs in the forest (I remember it mostly 'cause it dropped relatively easily when compared to the BUTTLOAD of unsuccessful Hellquist attempts I’d done up to then). Just that one time, tho…I don’t remember getting anything else from it.

The best way I’ve found to farm the Bee:

  • run past the first treants by the zone in, up the hill to the right (past the little treants), and off the top. Avoids spider spawn in the ditch, and saves time.

  • check the flat below and to the right of the teenager treant’s rock. If the big ones are moving, clear the area. If it’s just the little ones, ignore.

  • check the first path to the right, by the forge area/cabin. kill the first big treant. skip the second.

  • go into the orc area. work around to the right. When the Duke starts to come from the left, run back toward the area’s entrance, up the hill to the respawn station. Big treants who can drop the Bee will typically spawn and start fighting orcs. The Duke will peel off to start fighting them if you haven’t previously hit him.

  • focus fire on the Duke while he fights the treants. once he’s down, everything is easy to kill.

  • naturally, kill the 2 bloodfruit treants.

This gives at least 5 treants who frequently drop the Bee. I’ve had multiple occasions where I’ve pulled 2 Bees since the legendary drop rate increase. I also find that I get a lot of Maliwan sniper rifles here, which I love for Zero, Maya, and Axton.

Generally I just kill all the treants- not just for a chance at a Bee but to complete the challenge as well… :sunglasses:

When I’ve just completed another digistruct level, I farm as I outlined. Other times, I just go there to have fun killing everything and for a crack at corrosive or fire immune Bee drops. The Forest, the Dust, Frostburn Canyon… Those runs are fun for me.

Yea, I scored a Bee from one of the Treants on the side path once.

oh wow, yea, im never farming hunter for a bee shield ever again, in probably the amount of time it took me to farm hunter 20 times to get nothing, i farmed the first 5 treants in the woods 5 times, first run, 2 bee shields, nothing 2nd and 3rd time but after that, usually had a bee shield drop the next few, still waiting for one of the elemental resistant bees though

I’ve farmed enough to get more than 30 Bee shields since the drop rate update, and have only gotten 1 elemental resist Bee shield.
