The Dust at Night in front of and behind Ellie’s Garage (for Tubby’s) and Thousand Cuts with the Rocko’s Modern Strife mission active (for LLMs) - don’t turn it in and also Sawtooth Cauldron for LLMs.

In every container there is a chance? Or only in specific containers like wep?

True, but for some reason there seems to be a better chance of finding them at night.

Thousand Cuts and Sawtooth Cauldron are also good spots for Loot Midgets.

Indeed. I’ve found all my Tubby Spiderants during the day.

I and many other players have had better luck farming Ellie’s Garage for Tubbys at night then during the day. That seems to be the general consensus. While this certainly doesn’t constitute proof, it at least counts as evidence. Until / unless GBX can confirm / deny this (which is very unlikely to happen) , we will never really know for sure.

I’m inclined to chalk this claim up to cognitive bias (someone saying that it might and then people thinking that they too have had more at night than during the day because human memory is sadly very fallible).

Sawtooth Cauldron. Generally 7-10 LLMs plus the chance of getting other weird creatures to spawn.

(Weird creatures mean Psycho, Nomad, Goliath and Rat LLM and Tubby Midgets)

If you have Rocko’s Modern Strife mission open you can pop open all the boxes you want in Thousands Cuts without being assaulted by any of the bandits.

Sawtooth is also a good place but obviously you have to watch out for the local neighborhood watch.

WEP though is the most reliable for midgets if you have not picked up the recorder in the box.

Time I get into SC I always get betwen 7 and 10 LLMs, but not always. Random is Random.

I agree. I’ve also seen them everywhere spiderants spawn. I don’t think time of day matters, but it would be an interesting experiment to see if that’s true.

Except for One-armed bandits. We usually get one there as well as the midgets.

I’ve been hunting tubbies w/Maya for a few days, off and on - in about a dozen runs thru Bug Gulch, I’ve only seen one tubby in daylight; night runs, one per run has been the norm and one run yesterday gave a tubby, two Loot Goliaths and the Black Queen.

Not scientifically accurate, I suppose, but it’s what I’ve seen so far.

Tubby at dawn…dunno what to say about night or day here…

No. You can either wait there or go run around somewhere else until night and then go back.
