Choose a new player

I wanttop.ayanew character but when I choose one it wants me to start a new game. When I did that I lost everything I had to that point and had to start over from scratch.
Isthereasafe way to do this?

You’ll start a new game if you choose a new character. You can change your character by pressing Y on the main menu, which will pop a menu up and you can change your character from there.

You will always start a new game if you haven’t started with a certain character, so for instance if you start as Wilhelm and try and play as Athena, you will restart the game over.

Never has happened to me yet and I have 6 toons named Wilhelm, 3 Athena’s and so on, and never has it overwritten a toon.
