Hey there, long time Borderlands player but first time poster here
I just came back from farming the dragons of destruction and noticed the mimic chest right in the room that you spawn in (Chamber of Woe). That’s pretty fast - Is that a known farming route or something?
I’m not sure… more interested in how easy it was to turn that video into a little .gif.
Also, welcome to the forums!
Thanks
Pretty easy, I just used Shadowplay to record and popped the video into an online converter.
I’ve farmed the spot for a few hours now and have already found a Chaotic Evil Monk COM with +6 Money Shot and +5 Asbestos. I’ve been running around Dragon Keep for ages looking for that thing.
Yeah, you have to spend 20 Eridium once, but this could be the most efficient farm for Tina COMs with a movement-speed-optimized Gunzerker or a Breakneck Banshee Siren. Don’t know about the other classes though
Nice route
In the meantime try another one: fast-travel to the Mines of Avarice, then go to the Immortal Woods from there and run forward until you reach the Conqueror’s Crypt containing 2 Unassuming Chests. Save-exit and repeat until you get your COM(s)
Thanks
Yeah I knew about that route, but I never actually tried it. Two chests at once seems great, but I’m curious how long it takes to get to them. I’ll time both farms when I have the time, I’m really invested into finding the most efficient COM farm now for some reason.
there’s also the flamerock refugee exit to unassuming docks, get the chest on top of the stairs. you can also try to get the chest on the boat and look also for tubby bones.
personally i like running immortal woods for a chance also of bee drop.
The results are in!
I’m using Joltzdude139’s Deputy Build (Important Skills: +5 Money Shot; +5 Incite; +5 Bus That Can’t Slow Down) with an Auspicious Raider COM (+6 on Money Shot and +5 on Incite) and a low level Fabled Tortoise for additional movement speed. If you want a deeper explanation on the build, check out Joltz’ OP10 Ultimate Salvador Builds video on Youtube.
Lair of Infinite Agony coming from The Winged Storm: 1 chest in 6-7 seconds
Immortal Woods coming from Mines of Avarice: 2 chests in 32 seconds
Unassuming Docks coming from Flamerock Refuge: 1 chest in 11-12 seconds
The Forest coming from Immortal Woods: 1 chest in 11-12 seconds, grenade jump over barrier
Dragon Keep: 5 chests in 66 seconds, 2 of them always mimic
The times were measured by symply running and jumping perfect runs (without getting hit or bumping into stuff) and analyzing the video afterwards. Maybe you could shave off some time on the longer routes by rocket jumping, but I suck at that, so yeah
If you have other route suggestions, let me know
Actually @DeputyChuck ’s Deputy build which YT denizens tend to either claim as their own or neglect to give credit where credit is due.
Let me rephrase that, I’m using Joltz’ variation of the Deputy build. The skill point distribution is actually a bit different, but it’s cool to see who came up with the core build
Anyway, the only 2 skills that matter for movement speed are Incite and Bus That Can’t Slow Down, so as long as you have 5 points in those and you’re running the Auspicious Raider - Fabled Tortoise combination, the above times should be achievable with pretty much any Sal build

Cool find!

Joltzdude’s build is made so he can swap playstyle without respecing, but it’s basically the same thing with a few compromises. It should work almost identically. He specs into a few skills that do nothing for a deputy, but that are very useful if you swap to something else. Also, I should have always included auto-loader in the original build.
Cool find!
Thanks @DeputyChuck

That is the exact reason I use it, I like to adapt to different situations by swapping around COMs. Very useful when farming or playing co-op. I’m really enjoying the build! I hope that Joltz gave you credit at some point in time.
You may be on to something here. I never tried that farm, and after seeing your vid, I’m wondering why?! LOL
I’m actually back on BL2 right now on console. I might have to try this farm out. Nice find!

Probably because everyone is already dreading the platform puzzle after leaving the dragons. At least that’s the reason why I never noticed the farming possibility

@Kurtdawg13 Thank you, good luck on drops!
