I’m having trouble deciding what Mod would be the best for the build I have in mind for FL4K. Now my build I would say is a jack of all trades as I put points into the green and red tree and into the blue to make my pet value since you always have one out. as for skills I have in mind to use all three. Rakk attack for mobbing, Fadeaway for bossing, and gamma bust for taking if I need it though I don’t think that really need it. I have looked over the class mods and the ones I think would work great are. Bounty Hunter, Cosmic Stalker, R4kk P4k, Red Fang, and St4ckbot. So tell me what the best class mod you would think fit with this build.
Cosmic Stalker for mobbing, Bounty Hunter for bossing.
One COM regardless of action skill, pet deployment, and combat style, and you’re focused on green/orange trees?
Yeah, Cosmic Stalker or Bounty Hunter… kind of pick whichever you find with your favorite combination of passives and skill hits.
Red Fang is great with Gamma Burst, but kind of a waste with any other action skill. R4kk P4K is cute, but you can generally have plenty of Rakk charges with anointments on your gear, and St4ckbot is great with Fade Away or a Stauros’ Burn, but unless you can almost guarantee all critical hits, it’s main gimmick is missed.
If I had to pick between a Bounty Hunter or Cosmic Stalker in this case, I’d use the Cosmic Stalker, and look for one with the most points in Big Game… you’re hitting six different Hunter skills, all of which will benefit from this. Most bosses have some adds that you can snag to get your kill skills going, and a slew of points in Big Game can keep them active for a long time.
Bounty Hunter’s gimmick of treating bosses like humans/robots/beasts I believe just lets Interplanetary Stalker and Hunter’s Eye apply to bosses. (I think it applies all three bonuses from those skills to bosses, not just the one that seems like it applies). That said, the wiki entry says that it applies to Dominance, so I’m off to the laboratory to see if it actually lets me Dominate bosses.
Bounty Hunter can’t be beat if you’re going to use corrosive guns.
If you want some more details on that I’m happy to provide.
What’s your gear, guns and shield, anoints?
If you want me to I could advise slight spec changes as well, based on your spec.
The bounty hunter com does a boatload of things:
The better known parts are:
Activate purchased hunt kill skill upon dealing gun dmg which is predetermined rather than true chance.
Also, gun dmg is dealt by some grenades such as hunter-seeker.
And: Make all bosses count as humans, robots and beasts.
The lesser known parts probably are:
Interplanetary stalker is activated with all its bonuses upon kill. So, not just the respective aspect such as v1 (which is always activated on kill) and, say, action skill dmg. No, all bonuses are being activated except move speed which cannot activate when using a BH com.
Hunter’s eye also benefits a lot:
The “Armor Bonus” (which is V2 damage) does not require any Armor bar, the enemy just has to be a robot. And if you equip a bounty hunter, you get the V2 vs any boss, any healthbar.
Additionally, against bosses you get any boosts from the skill when using BH.
But you get one of the bonuses again if the boss you are facing is robotic, a beast or humanoid.
So, against Wotan you get 30% v2 dmg because he is a boss and another because he is robotic.
Boosted by Big Game and 5/5 in the skill, you get 78% v2 damage.
Same goes for the crit part of the skill, which is postadd unfortunately, but still.
Bounty hunter is thee com unless you are not doing “regular” gun setups or the likes of Punchbot, grenade setups and Rakk Stab …
