Guys this cannot be normal

I’m shooting at Joey Ultraviolet on Mayhem 10 with M10 weapons for more than half an hour. Barely goes down his Yellow “health”. Is this a bug or its the normal thing? I mean everything else usually melts from my weapons pretty fast (not one shot but a few dozens rounds tops) trying corrosive and radiation, but he is just running around with his stupid shield trying to hit me.

Is this normal?

It took me like almost an hour to kill him. This isn’t normal man. Something is up. :S

Trying to get an answer on this. I have a Zane Mayhem 10 build that more than does the job and I’m literally running out of ammo to get rid of his shield and below half health.

Thank god I’m not alone. I’m not doing it again, until I see some more answers, I screwed up like 2 hours on this one cartel run. Gather the intel, get in, kill everyone, thats at least an hour. Then the boss. This is nuts. Not fun in fact I’m so frustrated that I screwed up this much time for literaly nothing, hell I’m more happy with eridium then legendaries as they go to trash in 2-3 levels later anyways, since they SUDDENLY WHEN EVENT COMES have to surprise us with additional levels.

The logic of this for me is illogical. Because Grinding level and leggos are useless at the same time. So cartel event for leggos means zero incentives right now. But who in the right mind grind LVL in cartels?
Contradict much?
Sooo frustrated omg. I go play something else this killed my mood so much.

It’s taking a little longer to kill him than last year, but he still dies in a few minutes. Is he stuck in an invulnerable state? Had that happen before. Sometimes the game won’t recognize you killed both henchmen, leaving him invulnerable state. If you fight him long enough, the game drops the invulnerability even if both henchmen aren’t dead.

He’s definitely a lot more tanky, though he shouldn’t take an hour if your build and gear are still up to snuff. Took me around 3-5 minutes of emptying all ammo I had into his brains to kill him.

You can farm the cartels without killing ultravoilet. Whatever 2 bosses spawn with him if you kill them first then travel to the start of the map next time you drop back down they should spawn again. Whichever 2 will keep spawning though, if you want a different boss just restart it.

He’s more tanky but he’s not that bad 5-10 mins boss fight for me and I had 65 gear

Took a while to kill me myself with lvl cap splash damage Moze. Had an unkillable underboss like last years bug, even vanquisher rocket pods barely dented his health but one shots nearly every underboss. Is this due to the trials event having final bosses buffed?

There’s a lot of wonky stuff with this patch, we’ll see a hot fix soon enough. You know.

I haven’t played in well over 9 months and haven’t made it through the other DLCs yet so I’m guessing my equipment is sub standard. Melts everything else though.

Yeah, you’re complete loadout might not be geared to take him out. He’s definitely a lot tankier than last year. But not like the trial bosses. Their health is ridiculously stupid. They remind me of fighting raid bosses in BL2, but worse…lol

Joey dies for me fairly quickly with Amara. As long as I do the fight right. If not, it does take a few minutes to kill him.

Weirdly I had a run just now and he melted in seconds, something certainly strange is going on if one run was like 5 mins and next 15 secs

Gearbox’s idea of increasing difficulty/making a boss: “MOAR HEALTH!

(Seriously, I did it on M1 with my M10 gear just to get the 3 challenges done for the ECHO skin. Took me 4 minutes to drop the fool with nigh non-stop fire at point blank.)

even my clone didn’t do much damage against him :sweat_smile: and that thing just melts anything

While farming for more decoder rings cartel members literally stopped spawning completely when I got 20, quit and reloaded and very next enemy was a cartel member. I think the patch broke something badly

Tried it again after hitting level cap, mow down every other sub boss you name it. Joey regens health 2 times before I had to fast travel out because I’m out of ammo. The discrepancy is stupid. This is why I haven’t played this slapdick game in 9 months.

When I got to Joey I was L66, and he was L69. Took forever to bring him down, I did read somewhere that he develops immunity to different elemental types so after dying once I switched up elements the second time trying to take him down. Also concentrating on crits helped, and launching lots of grenades, but it did seem a bit insanely hard for an event boss. Red level went much faster, a few minutes instead of half an hour

Get yourself a powerful Corrosive weapon for the Armor bar (Yellow health), and the rest Incendiary should do the trick.
Joey is definitely tanky/bulletspongy but definitely possible and shouldn’t take an hour, 5 minutes tops.
