Despite my better judgement on spending my very limited Eridium on frivolous nonsense, I have been collecting the quest rewards from Crazy Earl’s Veteran Rewards vending machine as they come up.
So far I’ve managed to get most of the ones that appear, but there are some quest rewards that have never appeared, despite me checking the machine every single time I’m in Sanctuary. I’ve checked more than 100 times, probably more than 200 times at this point, but I’ve never seen any of the following quest rewards despite having completed the quest:
* I have only completed Witch’s Brew on Normal Mode and have only been checking the vending machine on True VH Mode, so not sure if that may be causing the issue.
I know that some of these guns are much rarer than others (weapons like the Star Killer and The Leech appear about ten times more often than The Emperor’s Condiments), but at this point I have to wonder if there isn’t a bug with some of the gear never appearing…
I’ve seen the black flame - noticed it because I love the reference - but I agree with the others. It’d be good if they were available.
Ideally they’d be buffed too and all mission rewards would be anoint-able, but I think they’re working on that.
OK, so, so far it seems the reason I’m not seeing the two Witch’s Brew items is due to not having completed the quest on TVHM.
I’ll check NM vendor from time-to-time… (I am NOT doing Witch’s Brew unless they fix Pippie to 1. not make constant, incredibly loud, obnoxious hacking cough noises, and 2. prevent his path-finding from going into your personal quarters.)
Black Flame shows up as does Fungus Among Us. Completing in TVHM is not required as I have level 65 versions of each without having completed in TVHM. However, those two items do seem to show up less frequently than others.
Other than the Prickler, which does not show up (and for this one I don’t know why), the others do not because technically they are not actual quest rewards. Cloud Kill is an optional reward if you speak to Ava. Hand of Glory, Null Pointer and the Boo–although you must obtain them to complete the missions, they are obtained before the mission completes and thus are not given to you as a reward.
It would seem to be a glitch to me because the Black Flame is a temporary item that you cannot even keep if you complete the mission. The same goes for the Big Succ. Yet those are both in the vending machine. It’s annoying as is the fact you cannot get the Rogue Sight or Kevin’s Chilly through the vending machine–they are also mission only items like the Back Flame/Big Succ.
But did you get Black Flame / Fungus from Crazy Earl’s on TVHM or NVHM?
I’m assuming since I completed Witch’s Brew mission in NVHM but not TVHM that that is the reason those rewards are not appearing Crazy Earl’s on TVHM (I haven’t tried farming for them in NVHM yet)…
I would think if you are in TVHM it’s only going to have items you obtained in that mode. So either try farming in normal or complete the mission in THVM.
