New Trial Event and my nerd mmo experience gave me an idea about possible endgame content

So here’s the thing before I get into what I mean : I’m a big fan of Final Fantasy XIV. Easily became my favorite MMORPG through the years, and I think this game has a brilliant way to handle its difficulty levels.

You usually unlock Normal difficulty content through main story quest or side quests.
And when it comes to certain boss fights, there is a very interesting NPC called “The wandering minstrel”. Long story short : it’s basically a bard, a narrator following the hero based on tales or stories he heard about how he defeated a special foe/how he accomplished something in a region.

So he just usually gets there and throws you the “Wow your battle against insert boss name here was a pretty epic, do you mind if I compose a song about it, and spread your legend across realms ?” and it unlocks Extreme/Savage version of a fight, and sometimes even Ultimate which is a very high end content. So you re-do a fight against a boss, but obviously he has more health, more mechanics, and in the case of Ultimate, it’s a completely different fight re-using a trinity of bosses previously encountered.

I’d love to have that in BL3. We already have narrator from DLC3. This guy could be used again, serve as a “Hey your fight against Troy Callypso was really something. Do you mind if I write something about that ? I just love telling stories.”, VH could hear the story and be like “wait a minute, it didn’t happen like that at all in my memory” and it would be a cool way to re use bosses with different base health and mechanics. I’d love to fight a “Troy The Invincible”, “Ruiner The Invincible” and they all could give their superior signature weapons. Troy could give the “Twin God’s Call”, a powercrept version of King’s Call, Ruiner could give “Butcher Rose”, a superior Bloom.

That would be a cool way to re-use old content imo
