Is the Pestilence + Red Suit combo broken?

So I picked up a MH10 Pestilence and started using it with the Red Suit, but when the Pestilence Nova occurs, it one-shots me.

My understanding was that with the Red Suit’s 100% Radiation resistance that I should be immune to the self damage, but the one-shotting self-kill is happening consistently every time the gun overheats.

I’m playing a Blast Master Demo Woman Moze and I thought maybe the nova was triggering Short Fuse on myself, but Short Fuse only triggers off of gun damage (is the Pesitlence nova considered gun damage?) and that explosion, from my understanding, is based off the weapon damage and element, which means that the Short Fuse explosion should also be Radiation, and thus I should be immune.

Unfortunately, I do not have any other VH to test if this is a Moze issue or not.

So, is the Pestilence + Red Suit combo bugged or am I misunderstanding how the Pestilence and / or Red Suit work?

Got nuked by Moze’s fire skills? I know that’s a problem with self-splash.

I suppose that is possible.

Torgue Cross-Promotion (TCP) gives +30% Splash Damage and Fire In The Skag Den (FitSD) gives +15% bonus incendiary damage. Assuming FitSD calculates after TCP, the incendiary damage would be 15% of the Pestilence’s nova * 1.3 (from TCP).

I don’t know how much nova damage Pestilence does, however, if I work backwards from the fact that I got one-shot with ~13,000 shields + ~27,000 health, that FitSD 15% bonus damage would have to be greater than 40,000 damage, which means that the nova explosion was greater than 133,333 damage.

Does that sound right?
