Hey folks. Anyone have any advice for a solo Zane build post-nerf? I’m rocking a shield/MNTS cannon build that simply isn’t doing much damage, even with ASE Light Shows/Flippers/Plasma Coils. Any advice would help. Thanks!
I would recommend checking out Thiccfila’s raid killer build. Or if you don’t want to watch it, basically just build for the clone, give it a sand hawk, and go halfway down purple tree. That’s what I’m using and it’s going well enough, can clear all content fairly easily. The trials seem to take a little more than 5 minutes though.
Seems like your build was relying too heavily on Commitment. Generally speaking, you probably want to max out blue and purple. Investing many points into red only makes sense for Clone Builds and investing into green… eh, green really is a waste of skillpoints for the most part.
What you are looking for is maybe something like this:
Which is more of a general purpose build. You’ll probably want to use the Spy COM but Executor and Hustler can also work.
One thing I probably would do is ditch the barrier in favour of SNTL. For one, you have life steal and as such are already plenty tanky and also, because you aren’t gonna be going into green (because again, it’s a horrible tree with hardly any worthwhile skills) you aren’t getting any augments for the barrier whereas you could pick any of the SNTL ones.
There’s still some changes or customizations you could do depending on what you want, for instance if you are gonna use SNTL I’d move a point into Drone Delivery and there’s some shifting around you can do between Cold Bore, Cool Hand, Violent Violence and Playin’ Dirty. If you’re only ever using Light Show, Flipper and Plasma Coil you could also probably ditch most of the points in red except for the ones in Praemunitus because we are only doing that for the self-splash immunity from Duct Tape Mod, you could shift the one point from De Ja Vu to Sheer Will, and you could technically (sacrifice some bonus points in red and blue to get to Brain Freeze (though that’s arguably a waste since you are using Our Man Flynt and thus can insta-freeze enemies anyways).
Dude check out Moxys Ricochet Wizard! Tried it last night and it’s just so much fun! Super strong while challenging and fun to play. Farming for a perfect recursion now.
Thanks everyone. I’m still rocking a Seeing Dead and Transformer, so I need to find some new gear to up the build.
Seein’ Dead is a bit of a Downgrade when you have a build with Seein’ Red and MNTIS, but I’d say the Transformer is still alright, actually. Of course, there’s better options for maxing out your damage, but it’s among the best defensive shields out there.
Seein’ Dead I’d only really use for Clone Builds (because it boosts Donnybrook which is one of the only damage increases that affect the Clone) or builds without DLC 5 stuff.
Any shields you recommend with this build?
Basically any good general purpose shield is gonna work. Any of the 3 recently added shields (the Infernal Wish, the Super Soldier and the Re-Volter) are gonna be great, the Old God is great (provided you match it with the element you are using), the Frozen Heart is gonna be good for insta-freezing enemies, the Void Rift is really good, the Front Loader is alright if you want to use Urad for some reason, the Stop-Gap can make you basically unkillable with the right anoint and the Transformer and Red Suit are also gonna be solid as general defense options or when using specialized splash builds.
You really have a lot of options.
Just spec’d into a build very close to what you sent above (couple small tweaks) and grabbed a Pancea Re-Volter and an Executor and this is much better than my prior build. Not as tanky but procc’ing the Re-Volter with a SNTL 100% Cryo weapon is a blast. Will try and get a Spy Mod (haven’t had luck yet in 10 or so chests from that room) but this is def an upgrade.
Thanks again.
The Spy Mod isn’t neccessarily a must, but it provides a bit more value than Seein’ Dead since the skills are about on par with each other (with the Spy being able to roll a capstone which could be seen as a plus) and you get bonus kill skill duration on top of just the effect bonus.
