Amara Gun DMG buff Ideas

In actual state Amara got new COM called Death Blessing (Remmant gets a kill, you get 250% Gun DMG) it’s okay idea but not ideal for “All around”.

If Re-Volter shield will got nerf Amara will lost her main DPS source, so what I want from Gearbox

  • Change Phasezerker 2% DPS for every Rush Stack to 5%, 5x25=125% DPS or at least make it to 100%
  • Change skills on Phasezerker to something like Forceful Expression, Do Harm, Laid Bare, Wrath, Indiscriminate, Dread, Tempest. You have lots of choices to make this better
  • Grasping Enemies activates Laid Bare, this skill works only with linked enemies when you’re using Ties That Bind. Even tho Grasping enemy deal damage but whats the point of wasting 3 skill points when this doesn’t work properly
  • Grasping every enemy in the game, you can do that but Hermivorous and Graveward still have problems with activating Grasp on them it’s 50/50 if you’re lucky to get Grasp on them
  • Buff Forceful Expression as a capstone in Red Tree it should do something more than 18% more Elemental Damage
  • Remove negative effects from Augments

Comment your ideas to make Amara better for Gun Builds, not to be only locked for Melee Builds or wacky stuff like Death Blessing or Kensei
I don’t want to see hate from people “Oh because Amara is a Melee based character, if you want Gun Build use other characters” this is what people on Reddit said to me, so remember don’t hate people for their ideas and Reddit Community is toxic

Amara needs a buff in pretty much all gun damage related skills, that way legendary class mods like the golden rule and stone can become viable. Elementalist and nimbus needs that sweet mayhem multiplier

Action skills need to do more damage and have a faster cooldown rate (people just use ties and reverberation) (btw reverbaration card is wrong, is just 20% more damage)

This could solve imo more than 50% of amara problems

edit: i was hoping for a rework in this last patch… but sadly, nothing. Amara is easy the worst VH :disappointed_relieved:

I was also hoping for changes to her but seems gearbox is really lazy or they’re thinking “Nah it’s fine”.
I want Amara to be on right spot like Moze, you don’t need right anointments if you’re skills are great damage sources.
I like Active anointments fix, but thery are not perfect in some cases and also Grasping like I mentioned in my post doesn’t work perfectly on some bosses.
Maybe in future or never, I don’t want to see same mistakes made by Gearbox by leaving Vault Hunters in actual state like they did in Borderlands 2

It’s really a mobbing com. And has a very specific condition. I do think a little unconditional gun dmg, sth in the neighborhood of 100% would help her tremendously.
But at least the card text is wrong as it’s not 250% weapon dmg but rather 150% dmg bonus that is multiplicative with everything else.

I saw that video, I forgot that Death Blessing gives 150% instead 250%. Still not interested in that COM, if it’s not for “All around” then it’s not for me. Also what’s the point of adding mobbing COM when characters like Zane and Moze have COM’s for “All around”, where Amara have Driver, Phasezerker and Kensei (I don’t like this one, 6 seconds with Amped DMG it’s to short)

Yeah, her coms are plagued that’s for sure.
If you by all around mean bossing and mobbing you are kinda stuck with Phasezerker.
All other coms have too many downsides as in killing your cooldown which Amara needs, esp on non grasp builds.

She could use some damage tacked onto a couple of her other skills, most notably in her red tree. Too many of her skills there focus on secondary intangibles like DoT duration/intensity that are too low to factor into any greater damage sources for her. If they actually gave Mayhem boosts to such things though, they might actually make things like the Nimbus and Elementalist useful.

Forceful Expression used to at least be decent until they nerfed the bonus projectile effects from stacking ASEs, it’d need to be boosted pretty significantly to make it worth the investment all the way down the tree. I think that and things like her 40% Rad damage Anointment are still hold-overs from their pre-Mayhem development that they just haven’t had the mind to rework.
