DLC 6 New Com for Moze

Has anyone found any interesting mechanics with the new DLC 6 Moze’s Com?

I haven’t gotten one yet and still not sure if it’s really that interesting.

Its unique effect basically gives you a slightly worse version of the first minigun augment in the green tree. I tried it for a bit… and sadly, in SS it felt underwhelming compared to Raging Bear with minigun. What’s even sadder is that railgun with the new COM killed the Seer (the boss that drops the new COM) faster than minigun with the new COM. So currently it seems like it’s competing with Bear Trooper for the worst IB COM spot, unless there is some hidden effect I did not discover

the most “interesting” part about it so far is that it can give +2 to feature creep, with 3 points in the skill it gives IB 135% damage resistance, looks nice but i think in reality it’s more like a 1.35/(1+1.35)=57% damage reduction

I second this statement. Raging bear and flare are the only iron bear coms you really need. IB is so tanky, he doesn´t really need that damage resistance. The only thing that can kill IB is his own splash hardpoints.

Also weird is that ive seen them drop with a total of +4 skill points.

Did a test in Sanctuary with COM +2 Scorch +1 Big Guns +2 Feature Creep (melee, grenade radius, sniper dmg) with x2 Let off some steam augments. Nothing other than COM equipped and Guardian disabled.

Took Scorching, Specialist, Really big guns, Feature creep, and Stainless Steel Bear all maxed.

Without COM each mini started at 22k and topped out at 39k before overheating. With COM on started at 33k and increased to 101k before overheat.

Not sure if that’s in line with expectations or not but there’s some numbers for anyone who cares

Problem is…

Mini guns will kill you quicker than anything

Totally counterproductive on a maxed out splash damage Moze.

If they didn’t self damage…they’d be quite useful and fun on IB

Otherwise you are crazy not to go the no self damage route with railguns IMHO.

I think i’ll enjoy this new com a lot actually. (What, he doesn’t hate everything??)

I prefer to use general winter as they’re not as extreme as some of the other hardpoints, and this com should pair really well due to great heat management.

sRPM is a solid, i like crit bonuses. Feature creep is cool i guess, though i’m not sure the damage reduction will help much. Iron bear is pretty hard to kill even without self healing, especially when most things are frozen and iirc, security bear has damage reduction aswell already.

The only downside to me with this com is that it will probably remove the main reason why i use general winter in the first place. General winter deals decent damage, but it’s nothing to crazy. But a minigun annoint and this com will probably make one tap most things outside of raid bosses and the more tankier story bosses. But we’ll see i suppose.

I think a lot of people will quickly write this com off due to how great Moze’s other coms and IB hardpoints are in general. It might be one of moze’s weaker coms, sure but it’s still far from trash tier, imo.

I agree, such is Moze’s range of legendary class mods that I don’t think it would be accurate to label a single one of them as bad or ‘trash’ in the same way that players talk about the other vault hunters as their mains. Even the bottom rung ones such as Green Monster and this new one can contribute far more in comparison than the absolute worst class mods of the others.

As far as Heat Exchanger goes, its special ability is both mathematically inferior to Flare for bonus damage and focuses on a hardpoint which is around mid-tier at best, yet it’s supported by a solid range of bonus Bear DPS skills. If I was being generous, I would probably rate it only one tier below the other Bear COMs. I might not agree with Gearbox’s idea of wasting a legendary class mod on just one hardpoint for Bear but then again, I still don’t agree with how they designed both the Green Monster and Sapper class mods either and yet even to this day, they still aren’t terrible compared to what Gearbox have wrought upon the other vault hunters, and they (including Heat Exchanger) can be put to pretty good use in niche builds.

The skills seem like the best part of the COM. Lootlemon mentions it can go up to +4 in all of them. 4 in Feature Creep is +72% passive IB damage which makes it an attractive choice if you want to run miniguns, assuming that info is accurate

The new COM might leave a little to be desired, but I think Moze mains should be paying more attention to other new additions from DLC6 besides the COM and the obviously-broken Super Soldier shield. I’ve already mentioned how OP the Kickcharger is in another thread, but there’s the Infernal Wish that adds an extra projectile to your shots while your shield is intact, and it’s Anshin so it should be able to drop with amp parts as well.

Then you’ve got the Mesmer grenade which allows you to possess enemies for 10 seconds (and can work on multiple enemies simultaneously) and there’s also the Toboggan artefact where when you slide, you get a protective bubble with +50% damage reduction for a few seconds, or it bursts when you shoot your weapon and you get +100% amp damage. However, the 100% bonus slide speed isn’t actually working right now.

lol the Super Soldier shield is extremely broken. Super easy to have invulnerability super speed and extreme fire rate constantly with it on Bloodletter Moze.

Definitely going to be a feature on my new uRad build.

Yeah im running a Urad setup with Bloodletter+Maliwan Company man and a Free radical / super soldier. It’s ridiculous even without phalanx you can easily keep the buffs up constantly just due to rushin offensive but with phalanx added suddenly its all automatic lol.

You do know iron bear basically has a rocket booster? You’re supposed to bunny hop backwards and strafe and you virtually never hit yourself with splash.

Naw explosive bullets has a windup and its super easy for something to charge or jump right in front of you. Or if you want a laugh go fight the raid boss with explosive bullets, and report back how that went. It’s certainly doable but it throws a bunch of things in your face that your bullets will hit and blow you up.

That’s the case with any splash damage at that boss though. You have to just stop firing when the swarm comes pretty much. Anywhere else it can pretty much be avoided

Yes true but its not the case with any hardpoint. Sabot rounds for example. I’m pretty good at this game, and I still find it very annoying using explosive rounds in places like Slaughter Shaft as well, sure you can avoid it but is it really worth the effort? They used to be really good but all the power creep resulted in them being much more dangerous to use.

I found the com to be good with a general winter build with +4 to feature creep, but outside that scenario I don’t see a good reason to use it.

I dunno I mostly use the targeting rockets and grenade launchers and never have any issues with them, but I’m always super mobile jumping backwards and strafing constantly.

Railguns…

Can’t kill you in any situation and don’t require the effort you are talking about.

And Lordy…on a splash Moze with a decked out IB or IC they just tear up everything.

I mean I hear you and you can make miniguns work… but after you go railguns for a while it’s just hard to go to miniguns.

At least for me.

Am I the only one who runs a sabot on rhs and homing rockets on left? Far more utility. The rockets auto target and the sabots let you fire close. So many other ways to buff IB (and Moze) than putting a point in specialist bear.

I think i’m unable to do a build without going 16p into green tree.

It’s like a standard thing i do at this point. I suppose i feel as if i need it since i mostly use eternal flame or mindsweeper and spend most of the time in iron bear.
