Marauder Moze (Level 65 M11 COV Allegiance Build) High DPS Tank Build

Took me over a month to put together, but now I’m happy with the final product. Just want to make 1 thing clear before I give a written breakdown of what’s going on:

So in the class mod and artifact section, I mentioned that mag size increases on white text is fine for this build. After some testing, this is not the case. ANY sort of mag increase, whether Iron Bank or white text, increases heat per shot. So AVOID getting both and go for damage rolls instead.

Now with that being said let’s go over the build.

BOTTOMLESS MAGS
5/5 Matched Set: decreased heat per shot for COV means increased DPS for all our guns

1/1 Dakka Bear: great for iron bear and Guardian Takedown (lets us do scourge skips and defend crystals with ease)

1/1 Redistribution: Health and Ammo Regen on crits.

5/5 Scrappy: More Gum damage, handling, and weapon mode/swap speed. The weapon mode speed effects how fast the engine can be turned on for COV Weaponry.

3/3 Stoke the Embers: increased fire damage

1/1 Rushin’ Offensive: life steal with weapons while sprinting is very nice to have.

5/5 Scorching RPM’s: increased Crit damage, fire rate, and iron bear damage.

3/3 Click, Click: COV Guns get good damage out of this skill due to overheat mechanic.

1/1 Some for the Road: infinite ammo for 5 seconds after exiting iron bear

1/1 Forge: Because COV Guns take from the ammo pool directly, rather than a traditional magazine, Moze can never truly run out of ammo for these weapons. Works great with a certain pistol that lets us regen pistol ammo that I’ll go over further down.

DEMOLITION WOMAN:

4/5 Fire in the Skag Den: Bonus fire damage on Splash damage (Mayhem Scaled!)

1/5 Grizzled: Killing an Enemy reduces Moze’s Action Skill Cooldown Time (-1 second is enough, as long as you don’t shoot iron bear’s weapons before exiting).

3/3 Means of Destruction: Dealing Splash damage gives extra chance for more ammo and grenades

5/5 Torgue Cross Promotion: Increased Splash Damage and chance to increase Splash Damage Radius

5/5 Stainless Steel Bear: Increased Fuel, Damage, and and Armor for Iron Bear (boosts Skag Den!)

1/1 Auto Bear: Aggro relief for Moze and lets Guardian Takedown become a breeze.

3/3 Pull the holy pin: great synergy with Redistribution using increase Crit chance on grenade.

2/5 Vaympr: Life Steal on Grenades

1/1 To The Last: Using Grenades while in FFYL makes second winds a whole lot easier.

1/1 Short Fuse: Incredible Capstone that gives Moze even more damage using splash weapons.

SHIELD OF RETRIBUTION

1/1 Security Bear: More damage reduction on Iron Bear + Bubble Shield = more survivability

4/5 Selfless Vengeance: this looks sus due to us having forge. However, the thing to keep in mind is that COV always have a pretty good chance to break, especially since the best performing ones already have such high rates of fire. Plus, we are using a shield that makes Armored Infantry useless, so we might as well get some extra damage in the case that our guns break due to overheating.

5/5 Drowning in Brass: extra gun damage and decreased fire rate on kills is just too god to pass up. Also, Iron Bear can helps stack this too.

1/1 Experimental Munitions: Bonus Incendiary Damage on critical hits.

GEAR:

Gargoyle (Consecutive Hits): Corrosive Locked Splash Pistol that shoots darts that exploded on impact, and explode again after 1 second. Also shoots arching orbs while fire and on reload. Incredible boss melter, and helps deal with armored targets quite easily. Can be farmed from Dicken Goyle from DLC 3 (Bounty of Blood)

Sawbar (Consecutive Hits): Fire Locked Assault Rifle that splits into 3 projectiles and explode after a certain distance. Great long range killer and good anti aerial weapon as well. Can be obtained base game, and is farmed from Borman Nates at the Promethea Outskirts.

Rebound (Consecutive Hits): Assault Rifle that shoots saw blades that ricochet and pierce (and also explode). Great for mobbing and bossing. Can come in all elements. Farm location is Vaulthalla in DLC4 (Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck) and drops from the endboss, Psychoreaver.

Globetrottr (200% Splash, 160% Iron Bear Splash, or even 300/90) Mayhem 6+ Exclusive Rocket Launcher that straight up bodies most mobs in the game. Shoots orbs that bounce and explode at the same time. This with some for the road is nearly unstoppable (unusable in Guardian Takedown however, which is where you get it from, ironically enough.) Scourge the Invincible drops this.

Extreme Hanging Chadd: COV pistol that breaks after 999 shots but never consumes ammo. With Forge, it can regen ammo for pistols rapidly. Redistribution makes this even faster. Can get from the Swamp Bro side mission on Eden 6 in floodmore basin.

SHIELDS:

Adrenaline Initiative (75% Shields and Health after exiting Iron Bear): As stated before, this brand will always end up reloading (ie, time to repair) due to their high rate of fire and how the overheat mechanic works. They are also known for their repair time to be pretty slow, so we want to get that over with as soon as possible. Makes selfless vengeance pretty easy to use as well. The extra health it offers plus damage reduction, while small, makes us overall pretty tanky. The weapon damage is nice to have too. This shields require a save file farm, and the enemy that drops it is Vincent from DLC 2 (Hammerlock Wedding).

Cloning Maddening Tracker (OGT 25%): moze staple for health and weapon ammo regen. Recommend a low level variant and can be obtained as a a world drop.

Class Mods: for mobbing, i recommend green monster with +1 to click click and +4 to scorching RPMs. No points to Iron Bank as mag size increases are bugged for COV. Best white text would be anything revolving around relevant damage, tbh. (drops from handsome jackbot in dlc1). For bossing, mind sweeper is the way to go, as micro grenades from crits can chain and do ridiculous damage. (Best white text is grenade damage, splash damage, and splash damage radius).

Snowdrift Otto Idol: movement speed + health on kills is very nice for moze, especially with the shield we are using. Drops from Rachel the Anointed at the cathedral of the twin gods in Pandora.

That’s the overview of the build. Let me know if any of you have any questions. And any suggestions to make this build even better is always welcomed

@abe2funny Cool build. I especially like the use of the Adrenaline Initiative to mitigate the reload penalties, to the extent that you are having to reload. Moze’s shield is down most of the time anyway due to self damage, so you get the health increase, damage reduction, and reload speed. Cool off-meta selection. I like it and may try it myself as a shield in some of my builds.

Thanks man! I tried other shields like the old god and plus ultra, but the reload speed and extra health is what sold me. Getting back iron bear isn’t an issue, as I’m just putting the mech somewhere to act like a turret. Also, having grizzled with just 1 point makes up for the lack of having topped off. Would love to see what other people can do with this shield.

@abe2funny I run primarily Mindsweeper builds, but will occasionally do a Bloodletter build, and with either one, I never spec any cooldown skills and always have IB available anyway. If you use Auto Bear and just hop in and out of IB at the start of an encounter, just about everything is dead by the end of that 15 seconds anyway, and your refunded cooldown gets your IB back really quickly, sometimes before the 15-second Auto Bear duration has even completed. In the event you need IB again for that room, that is, which I generally find that I do not.

My point was not that you shouldn’t spec cooldown skills, just that depending on playstyle, you don’t necessarily need them at all. But that’s just the way I play, I understand that you definitely want cooldown skills if you focus on IB damage instead of Moze.

That’s a good point! 15 seconds is definitely enough time for iron bear to come back. I was just concerned with the fact that i have no access to the guardian rank topped off, so i figured 1 point in grizzled would be enough just in case. But yeah, it’s definitely a play style preference like you said. I could try just a 5:5 for Skag den and see how that goes.

I’ve been tempted to give Moze CoV instead of Vladof… those giant CoV “magazine” sizes should play very well with her ammo regen skills because the percent of magazine is way higher than normal. What other CoV weapons are you using with this?

They work incredible well with her skills, so long as you avoid Iron Bank and other weapon mag size increases, as the game will read that as “increase heat per shot”. I’d suggest putting those points some where else like scrappy or even cloud of lead. A since this is a splash focused build, the other COV weapons that i like to use are the skeksil and the major kong, as they both do splash.
