As the Cloning Maddening Tracker is pretty much the go to grenade for Moze, I think it should have its own dedicated drop (and please do not lock it behind Circles of Slaughter or Proving Grounds).
Also, can we change the Cloning Maddening Tracker so it CANNOT self harm? The main purpose of using the Cloning Maddening Tracker, along with Vampyr in the skill tree, is to heal yourself. However, I have found that the Cloning Maddening Tracker often does the opposite…I’m not sure if it is intentional or a glitch, but it is very annoying when the Cloning Maddening Tracker homes in and explodes on you (it also prevents you from entering Iron Bear when it is buzzing around you before it explodes).
I would be interested to know if anyone else has the same issues with the Cloning Maddening Tracker.
this is not a unique weapon with any special effect
its just a combination of grenade modifiers that the community found out, is the best way to utilize vampyr
there is no special treatment for a specific, common, purple, rolled grenade
As far as your own grenade coming back or buzzing you,there are certain enemy’s that will and can throw your own grenade back at you,this mostly occured for me in the 2nd dlc and can prevent you from entering iron bear or down you
All-Star psychos (and their reskin variants) and wolven from DLC2 can send/bat grenades back at you, it’s an ability of theirs and not a glitch… I learned that the hard way with Moze in DLC2.
Yes, farming the four vending machines in the Spendopticon is currently the quickest way of getting a Cloning Maddening Tracker (if you have the first DLC). And because I am on console, I split screen with my second account to further maximise my chances of getting the grenade. Even after doing this, it can take easily 3-4 days for one to drop. If there was a dedicated drop tied to a badass/boss, then hopefully it would take less time to get one and you would have the added bonus of gaining xp (for your Guardian Rank) while you farmed.
takes 7-8 restarts for me(pre-boss area at atlas hq, just farming k.jnr and check vend machine before him) to find one, lvl60,m10… but not sure about anointment i have 150% grnd dmg on it… which one will be most usefull?

If we are talking dedicated drops for awesome non unique purples that are more rare than M6 legendaries, then we need to throw the One Shotter shield in that mix. I’ve been playing this game every day since release and have yet to find one…
For what concerns the cloning maddening tracker, it’s best in slot but as long as it has homing, one mirv, one divider and/or one bouncing it will do it’s job at keeping you alive. I’ve been using a 25% damage anointed alley oop money tracker for a long time and it substituted my unanointed CMT just fine.

Honestly, they should just change vampyr to work based off damage dealt instead of amount of targets hit. This would both improve Moze’s sustainability and open up her grenade slot for a lot more options overall instead of having a very specific non-unique roll being the best in slot for her.
I have also found that the legendary Epicentre grenade (with 25% damage on grenade throw anointment) works well on Moze. The only problem being that you have to manually aim your grenade throws and make sure you dodge the orbs that come out of the grenade.
