Does Fish Slap grenade give you weapon elemental damage bonus after thrown?

If not, please explain this text: +20% Elemental Damage and 85% Change.

The grenade itself has a part that makes it more likely to give a dot, and a stronger dot

Yeah it’s a bit vague, but I think it only refers to the grenade’s damage and DOT chance, it’s unfortunately not a relic-like boost.
