Moze with Monarch against Wotan M10

I have a M10 Corrosive CH Monarch x4 variant. When I use it against Wotan and his flying behalf, it feels the damage is subpar. It doesn’t feel like my old Corrosive CH Boom Sickle from M1.0 M4. I had to switch back to a corrosive Kaoson since I am more mobile with it.

Has anyone tried using it against Wotan? M10? Going with bipod speeds up my death since I can’t move (not relying on speed demon mod btw).

Basically what I am asking is it me or just the weapon isn’t suitable against Wotan M10?

Edit: Sorry I won’t use Yellowcake

Edit: I’m running blue and green tree with MS

Use Green Monster not MS and look for a monarch with 300% - 90%
That’s it
Ps. Monarchs are good on close to mid range, they’re pretty much useles at long range

I don’t think I agree with your advice. It’s like if someone runs BM or BL and you tell them to go GM.

Also the 300 anointment does not work on the final bar of Wotan and his behalf.

Edit: Also I’m at midrange. Wotan has no problem closing in towards me so I’m confident I was never at long range

You ask for advice don’t you? You can take it or not, that’s up to you :slightly_smiling_face:
Seems you have all the knowledge tho

I did but I was looking for something that’s more sensible instead of switching coms and using an anoint that doesn’t work on the final bar

Well he’s right about one thing, but wrong about another.

Mind Sweeper isn’t the best for most of the Wotan fight as you can’t crit it. Switching to another COM might be best. However, BM and GM have ramp up splash damage that isn’t best for switching. (You’ll have to switch before the fight with a BM and wait 50 seconds before jumping down.) Bloodletter is a completely different build and the IB COMs are, well… IB.

The 300v2 also won’t be effective for portions of the fight. Mainly the middle of the fight until Wotan splits. Better half only has one bar, and the stages where there are more than one health bar, are shield phases and those are often the easiest. CH will likely be the best option.

I know OP said no to com swaps, but just a side note for anyone else: Just swap to Blast Master when you kill the last Heavy on the bridge. By the time you get into the Wotan fight the splash ramp is pretty much there.

Ah forgot about this. I was used to using BM in M1.0.

Ok I might as well swap with BM when fighting Wotan since I can’t crit him anyway.

So @fejorquerav is right with just swapping.

If your build doesn’t net you a large mag size and you find your self reloading often, then something to consider is keeping the Mind Sweeper for the bonus splash from TCP. Also consider at that point go with the best passives you can get.

If you’re trying to use a com for testing purposes, I get not swapping. But if you’re trying to just run through for fun/farm/time just swap it takes 2 seconds. Just make sure you have skill points to cover both coms nicely. I personally think speccing for 2 builds is a lot of fun trying to figure out what works perfectly. It’s also kind of hard to have 4 different weapons for a single build so I like having 2x2 or 3x1 for 2 different coms in my bag so I can swap on the fly. It adds a lot more utility planning to the game when you stop throwing away certain types of guns because they don’t work across all builds.

Also probably the old boom sickle was like M8 level for M1.0 M4.

I finally got a x8 corrosive Monarch to drop, so this is on my list of things to test this weekend. I was thinking about slotting it into my standard 1HP/Green Monster/Recursion build as my took for melting the Valks and the upper half. I tried subbing in a Sandhawk; damage output was good, but the projectiles are too slow.

also make sure you’re not using Holy Crit for Take Downs. whether you swap COMs or not, it makes Wotan a real slog.

Just ran an M10 TTD with a x8 corrosive Monarch – unfortunately the damage just isn’t there. you can take out the upper half with it reasonably quickly, but you need something stronger for the lower half.

UPDATE: Nevermind, the OPQ totally worked the upper half.

I think the Monarch might be best with a Deathless Build with straight gun damage bonuses.

I have 3 different M10 variants of it and when I am using a Splash/BM, Green/Blue tree build…it seems just OK…but nowhere near how quick I can kill at M10 with a Kaoson or Boom Sickle.

What blows me away in these builds is how fast I kill with the new OPQ System AR. It “just works” on everything to be frank…and is nonelemental…and I don’t even think it gets any splash bonuses (not sure on that) but it seems to proc Short Fuse almost continuously.

It might be even better on a Deathless build with all the straight gun damage bonuses…but I shudder to think so…just wow!

The pellet that explodes and does shock damage benefits from splash boosts.

Interesting. If the damage isn’t in the x8 variant, then I expect nothing better with my x4. No matter how I cut it with Wotan. It really doesn’t feel that strong.

I switched to a Corrosive Kaoson with 300 anoint (still looking for CH) and it does better damage than my CH Monarch.

I’ll probably try this with my other Deathless Moze.

I just did a M10 takedown run (scaled not TTM), i have a corrosive monarch x8 150% radiation, build forge/short fuse, class mod last ditch bloodletter with awful bonuses and snowdrift deathless again awful bonuses.

And it performed really well, i killed both better half and bottom half with the monarch (i used a shock sandhawk for shields cause i dont have a shock monarch).
i think its really well balanced for m10, im not going to compare it with the other new guns that would be unfair haha, i spammed SftR a lot because in my experience thats the best way to use these high fire rate vladof AR against Wotan.

And like you said the drawback on bipod mode is that you basically have a huge sign on the top of your head that says “shot me”, i spent 90% off the time in FFYL during the last phase (thanks again double downer).

but yeah its a takedown viable gun.
I’m gonna try it on TTM maybe with a green monster and the pearl, after i turn off the Cartel Event, that last run took forever.

Monarch’s alt fire will probably work with a Sapper with good rolls. I tried a god roll Sapper (smg, splash) and Kaoson against wotan (only on Wotan. The rest is MS). I don’t have to worry much fyfl. Damage is cool with kaison.

Same Sapper with Redistributor back in Mayhem 1.0 M4 Wotan was underperforming.
