What shield are folks using with their Mind Sweeper builds?

Do you go mainly protective (Recharger/Transformer), offensive (BBB/One-Shotter/Killswitch), or somewhere in the middle (Old God)? I’ve been mostly using the One-Shotter out of habit, but I did just get my hands on a Recharger with shield break amp anoint that seems interesting.

Also the Gatlin’ Clairvoyance with 300v2 anoint is pretty dope, even one with bad parts.

I was using an Old God but I got a Frozen Heart with the amp anoint so now I’m using that. Both are great for me.

Old God is probably my favorite shield in the game right now though.

My Mind Sweeper build is largely shield independent, so I equip whatever I like at the moment (it is hard to put down the Old God, but I do try to mix it up). She’s loaded for grenade/splash/AoE damage like this, so if she’ll also be throwing grenades by hand (and doesn’t have More Than Okay Boomer on deck which provides more grenade ammo than I can throw), she may go with a Big Boom Blaster to feed this.

personally i use the Downer. i’ve tried others for more offense or other styles of defense, but face-charging enemies are always a problem. i like the Old God a lot, but i habitually go back to the Downer every time i feel like i went down too quickly. Its a comfort thing more than anything. double amp BB is my other choice. its a good blend of offence and defence.

clairvoyance is still very good, but a cryo x2 kaoson is definitely better. easier to control and more than double the fire rate. if the clairvoyance’s stickies were splash, that would be different, but unfortunately they’re not.

Break amp on a Recharger is FUN!

Best of both worlds(every 20 seconds) lol

Ooo i love the Frozen Heart but how does it compare to the Re-Charger with the same annointment. Do you also run Tenacious Defence?

I’m using Double Downer, in case of accidents.

Still stuck with the BBB, but just because it has a safe space roll which is extremely helpful in TTD in the bridge section.

Where were you 2 when that shield poll was up, Downer died at the bottom of the list haha

I got a 2x-Recharge Rate 1x-Turtle Old God I’ve been using. I have Recharge Rate on my Class Mod too and it’s like having a regular/fast recharge rate but a huge capacity.

Turtle is normally pretty bad, but Iron Bear armour isn’t necessary so I’ve been sticking with it recently just for the added survivability.

i voted Downer on it QQ. we were probably the only 3 that did.

BBB all the way.

I voted BBB.
But I do think Double Downer is better for Mind Sweeper, because blowing yourself up is bound to happen at some point (especially when fighting enemies that like to melee like Hildr or the Maliwan dogs). Mind Sweeper doesn’t need BBB’s shield regen, because it activates Vampyr very reliably.

Re-charger is more tanky for sure. It’s hard to compare them they are vastly different in function. I do a lot of Slaughter Shaft runs so the freeze from FH is very nice for that. I basically change my build daily but right now yes I have TD.

When you get that micronade drop that nukes a BA Zealot’s armor and health bar though…

Idk my kaosons are doing that regardless of element. Benefiting from splash bonuses is a big deal.

Clairvoyance has the extra Jakobs crit though. I will have to compare the strength of each of their nades.

thats only a 10% crit bonus.

Gatlin’ Clairvoyance is ~4.5 shots/s. Kaoson is ~11. if you have 10/5 TCP and splash on COM and artifact, you’re getting a 92% splash bonus. a single pellet cryo kaoson tops out ~6500-7k card damage, clair is ~13.5k. the output beats a clair on fire rate alone, and then you factor in ease of accuracy and splash bonus, and the clair only gets its bonus effect on crits.

i love the clairvoyance as a weapon, but it just gets eat alive by the kaoson.

Are people mainly using mine sweeper over blast or green monster now? If so what’s the skill and gear setup ppl use the most?

I’ve been flexing between MS and BM depending on whether whether the enemies have easy to reach crit spots. I’ve been messing around with the Sandhawk lately, so I’ve been trying to work EM into my builds rather than build for Short Fuse.

Swapping between mind sweeper and blast master has always been the go to. A lot of people are just discovering MS now though. Reasons for that are:

Kaoson/sandhawk are awesome for it, then they move on to other weapons too and see how good the mod is.

TCP buff, having splash damage in a skill that’s on the com does make MS better, but realistically if you went back to the old M4 and didn’t have the TCP buff you’d experience the same awesomeness of Mind Sweeper.

Cartel enemies crowd the field more, so it gives an artificial sense of Mind Sweeper and TCP radius being effective. When we’re back to normal enemy spawns you won’t be catching 3 or 4 enemies in a blast anymore.

M10 has high health pools, so when people see an enemy melt from micronades it feels satisfying to see it chunck their bar. This has always been the case but it’s just more pronounced now.

Green Monster is currently pretty useless, it was a really good Iron Bear mod and a few tricky exploity builds. IB isn’t doing so great, so it isn’t worth building around it now. Also grenades and dots aren’t powerful enough in M10 to make use of that effect with GM either.

We’ve recently got a lot of guns that work well with Mind Sweeper, so people are on the train now. Blast Master and Mind Sweeper can use pretty much the same build, so there isn’t a huge change there. The meta Blast Master build is still better for Blast Master, but is in my opinion the best way to build for Mind Sweeper so you can swap back and forth to complete all content in the game. Mind Sweeper doesn’t perform in places like TTD because of lack of crits. It also takes way more concentration so sometimes you just want to mess around. Plus MS is very suicidey.
