SO, they killed my build AGAIN

lul, I was going to get back into the game today finally to update some of my Builds and threads…
work on my clone weapon tier list again. level up, and have some fun with my infinite ammo zane…

and I am so disapointed to log into the game and log into my Zane and the first thing I notice is that you ONCE AGAIN killed a build idea that we came up with on or own for NO reason at all, but just to ■■■■ us up… thanks Gearbox! for kiling my second totally unique interaction that made the game fun for me!

I really dont undersatnd all this “fixing”… I finally got motivated again and you immediatly managed to crush my expectations once again…

what this means is basically cutpurse does no longer give you ammo when your clone has a facepuncher equipped… rip.

lets hope the clone damage is viable at least now on m10… We’ll see… one can hope right?

FP was replaced by fish grenade. It does melee damage and the clone procs cutpurse and knife drain when it throws it.

Why the need to shift from a gun to grenade I don’t understand, but that’s how it worked out.

The fishslap is a joke compared to the facepuncher. Next best solution should be cutpurse/launchpad and constantly slamming btw.
I really dont understand why this had to be fixed. It was clever, it was fun, it gave the clone a reason to exist.
Amara basically can have Violent Momentum on a com but Zane cant have infinite ammo like Moze, if you invest 26 skillpoints for the capstone.
This fix is so unreasonable, it boggles my mind.

yeah I did try it out… I actually like the fishslap as it is, for other builds it is really nice, a clone zane double barrel build where both use good weapons and still have a lot of ammo regen is fun…

but yes… it does not replace facepuncher in any way… it way to slow and way to unpredictable… infinite ammo spam is completly dead.

For Fishslap to work, you need a seein dead mod and a high projectile/fire rate gun to proc fractal frags and then the fishslap actually need to hit a target. Its not manageable.
Random seein dead procs, random fractal frag procs and clone ai throwing a non-homing grenade. Good luck with that lol

while testing guns for my clone tier list I am playing around with it, I only use a clone and throw grenades myself whenever I need them. since the drone may as well not exist anyway.

Yeah sntnl was only used for the anointment but is redunant now since we’ve got the 150% rad while under 50%hp. Just slap on a frontloader. But you HAVE to use allrounder then bc you miss out on healthgate.
I dont think clone/nade builds could hold up in m10 tho but please prove me wrong :slight_smile:

yeah I just got back into the game… I have ALOT to figure out again and get all my gear up (havent played since the lvl 53 increase) hardcore farming right now and testing.

Ill come up with a clone build eventually, since this is what I do ^^

You’ll want the fishslap that has singularity on it so it give it more of a chance to hit enemies

Clone drone players Opinion here:
Clones best weapon is Sandhawk now.
Yellowcake does insane damage but he rarely ever is in the right distance and/or level to use it effectively and kills himself regularly.
Kaoson is reasonable, as well as OPQSys, Plaguebearer, Reflux and kinda the Monarch even though he’s obviously not using alt fire.

Drone’s still kinda nice because if you don’t use the frontloader/deathless+Allrounder the cryo anoint is still a beast.

And since you’ve been away for a while:
Clone Lv57 with Rough rider and 6+ points in Donnybrook is really tanky (exceptional damage spikes excluded)

thanks for all the tips and info, its not really the point of this thread in particular, but I am trying out all the stuff right now.

so far my results show exactly what you are saying.

In regards to the drone, I dont care if there is an annoint that makes it worthwhile… if THATS the reason to pick the drone alone then that EVEN MORE show how terrible it is… not only are there “better” annoints to use now… but outside of that the drone right now is TERRIBLY weak and I think gearbox is behaving like children right now, that have never heard of the concept of balancing fundamental baseline abiltys to match endgame content…
its not only the drone, but the clone aswell, Ironbear is trash again, pets are stillnothing but a statstick… all this makes me really sad…

and for clone survivability I basically have no issues at all, unless it kills itself with a launcher its pretty much unkillable which I definitly enjoy.
But damagewise compared to M4 era and prior… the clone just sucks as much as the drone almost… and thats coming from the guy who from day 1 played with the clone and trying to find ways to make him viable in any way…

both his clone and drone are not only just utility now, their even less worthwhile than utility… and that to me is disappointing on a whole nother level

I dunno, sure I would like to see how the gameplay would be if there would be no <1 multiplier on the clone.
I’m kinda fine with the actions skills not being that prevalent and just there for taking heat, buffing and debuffing (bad dose) or just straight up damage prevention and amplifying.
But, I do think there should be action skill builds with anoint that buff those, which I think will definitly come in an event or dlc.
Taking away a cool interaction that is even good in group play for a class that has no ammo regen at all is shizzle though, no question.
