If one of the amazing moze testers see this I have a question I believe I saw somewhere possibly from hurdy that the 2 weapons in question dont get boost from splash damage boost bad trying to confirm that? The shock splash from opq and the secondary explosions from kaosen
You did not see that from me.
Check my list of splash weapons
Kaoson is splash on both contact and when the sticky explodes. OPQ projectiles are not splash, but the shock explosions are and the drone explosions are.
Neither can get splash anointments.
Oh it was they cant get splash annointments my b
Is that some weird coding bug
I could be wrong but isn’t it a manufacturer wide bug?
Like all maliwan weapons can roll with splash annointments, but they don’t all do splash damage. On the other hand, no Dahl weapons can roll with splash annointments, but some deal splash damage.
Do I have that right ?
EDIT: I was wrong about Dahl weapons not being able to roll splash annointments
Some Dahls can roll splash anoints – the BotD and Wyvern can.
Speaking of the Kaoson, has anyone noticed whether its stickies behave like Torgue stickies (e.g. the more you stick, the more damage that they do)?
Oh okay, i’ll fix the post above
I’m having an issue using the OPQ System in close quarters. Starting to think it is my skill choices.
It is causing a very large explosions that will put me instantly into FFYL. Also noticed it using a Boom Sickle.
Maybe a combination of Torgue Cross-Promotion and Short Fuse.
It’s TCP, SF doesn’t do self harm like that.
TCP is still an awful skill (design) but the splash damage increase makes it hard to give up. There will be people that enjoy the radius increase of it and they’re not wrong. It can be made somewhat useful but in my opinion the radius is at least 2x too large, and the inconsistency with some weapons (15 to 30% chance) makes it a lot more difficult to use. On certain weapons it makes no difference. On Mind Sweeper it’s not as big of a deal because you’re playing more cautiously and MS needs that splash damage boost. But a gun like OPQ it’s terrible where 1 out of every 7 shock explosions just swallows you.
I was really hoping they would just give a static 5% radius increase with each point invested. Something like 3 points in it would be great for some builds and 9 would still be as effective on MS.
So it is this shock explosion taking me out?
The gun is insane at long range but just destroys me at close range. I also have the 300% and 90% anointment.
Only the shock explosion and the drone explosion will hurt you.
I never used TCP until the latest patch. Stacked with that gun it is very deadly.
I’ve also noticed my Nuclear Sickle will kill me on point blank shots sometimes. That gun I can face a wall and fire it until one large explosion pops off and die. This is what first made me think SF and TCP was causing it. But the Hyperfocus does not cause the same issue.
Yeah SF doesn’t cause self damage, and the Hyperfocus isn’t a splash gun. Guarantee it’s TCP.
Totally unrelated, but melee seem to one shot my Moze quite a bit in M10. From full shields and health to FFYL. It’s weird they bypass health gating. They also tend to one shot me again in FFYL if I don’t get a second wind fast enough. I’m pretty it’s not self weapon damage doing it as it’s always a basher or meat COV hovering over my body afterwards.
They hit hard. I too have experienced a premature end to my FFYL even tho I had time on the bar (+50%) and had the same evil culprits standing over me.
the general rule of thumb from what i can tell, is that annointment allocation is attached to the body of the weapon. this is why all maliwan SMGs, pistols, snipers, and SGs can roll splash, even though not every barrel in the category produces a splash pellet. its also why for the most part Dahl, even with its high percentage of weapons with splash barrels, can’t roll splash. there are exceptions to this, such as the headsplosion, BotD, Kaos, Sawbar, and Alien barreled weapons with splash, but weapons generally ascribe to that rule and the exceptions are much smaller than those that don’t. the really wonky part is that a good amount of those exceptions don’t even have splash on their initial pellets, just after effects.
I did testing and from a few steps back from the bar and the test dummy OPQ can kill u… why does it seem bigger than the nukem
A TCP Nukem will hit you from a lot further away than the OPQ will. Go try firing a couple Nukems at the dummy, you’ll die.
Anyway, there’s one thing you need to remember about TCP and doubling the radius of a sphere.
When you double the radius of a sphere the volume is 8x larger
That’s why TCP is ridiculous. Now add to that AoE on Artifact + splash radius on Class Mod and you’ve got yourself a stupid build.
I found out a flakker is literally unusable with TCP as well. Btw, do the drone self-destruct explosions really hurt you? I tried testing and failing apparently because I didn’t take any damage. Maybe I need a TCP proc?
Oh yea I’m sure it’s crazy lol but since opq shoots fast more likely to hit urself tbh
10/5 TCP from a minesweeper, AOE on artifact and Splash radius on COM. OPQ fires fast enough to just put on a transformer and win. It’s a one gun build but it would be strong. Same thing could be done with Yellowcake and a redsuit. Atom balm artifact.
