[Poll] Speed Demon proves Moze should have speed boosting skills?

The Speed Demon modifier shows, in my opinion and I’m sure many others, the most glaring issue with Moze that needs attention: She needs speed boosts in her skills

  • Most glaring issue aside from things like IB scaling
  • Rushin’ Offensive sprint-after-firing bug needs to be fixed first

Changed this to a poll as I’m interested to see what others think about it. here’s my opinion:

  • Speed adds much needed survivability to Moze that isn’t based on tired mechanics of out healing health gate attacks.
  • She’s soo sluggish it’s annoying trying to cover large areas.
  • Speed Demon gives me Borderlands 2 vibes I didn’t realize was missing.
  • Makes maps a lot more fun, and gameplay way more fluid, love skating around.
  • I don’t think any skills should increase her speed to the break neck speeds the modifier does. Maybe max it to the equivalent of a single kill with Speed Demon.

On a scale from 1 to 5 how important do you think it is for Moze to have a skill(s) that increase her movement speed?

  1. Strongly Disagree - I do not want her to have speed increasing skill(s)
  2. Disagree - I don’t think she really needs a speed increase
  3. Neutral - It wouldn’t change anything for me
  4. Agree - I would like the option to increase her speed
  5. Strongly Agree - I think she needs to have speed increasing skill(s)

It made for God mode dodging and strafe ability, Moze was faster than all projectiles on screen and I was strafing while aiming down the sights. Almost seemed unfair. I’m not enthusiastic about running away tho, its not in my nature

The modifier is a bit much, it goes up to 150% which is like breakneck banshee. Moze is just so sluggish.

I also wouldn’t mind a cryo immune shield or at least make sliding break the cryo effect instead of making me crouch.

Can we get a throw grenades while sprinting while that shoot-to-sprint gets fixed?

Ive been using a Pearl relic Hurdy and that took place of my snow drift in order to combat M10. When the Tink’s throw their dynamite bundles I can only just get away, the snowdrift was critical in those situations… I agree 150% is excessive, I proced it up initially just to see a full sprint across the map. Warpspeed

Who needs cars right?

It’s by far the best easy modifier, I always try to run it. Now I can finally experience what it’s like to play zane on moze.

The only change i would want made to rushin’ offense is that a running jump still counts as running for the lifesteal part(this would allow you to running jump / 180 shoot when gaining distance on melees without losing lifesteal)

I agree that movement speed is extremely valuable in this game because pretty much everything is a projectile and can be dodged or even outrun.

I dont think putting speed on Rushin offense is the way to go though since spacing matters a lot for dodging projectiles and moving towards the opponent is going to deny exactly that spacing that you need for dodging bullets while shooting heads.

I consider running slow an advantage for the lifesteal part of it because you pretty much cant die as long as youre running right now as it heals off of pretty much every source of damage from what ive seen (including dots which is very significant) and the overall damage output has reached the point where it basically instaheals you to full constantly if youre shooting anything.

Also if youre running towards an enemy (even faster as you suggested) you are more likely to splash yourself into FFYL instantly which is a pretty big reason splash is kinda meh in my opinion.

Speed demon is soo good. I don’t think I ever going to roll it away.

So far I am running

  • Speed Demon
  • Healy Avenger
  • Pool Party
  • Buddy System

But I was getting frustrated by how easily I was getting myself killed with the elemental puddles. I re-specced in rushing offensive and now I can just sprint around like a maniac and I get downed way less (and HA and BS are super useful to get away from FFYL and build kill stacks for my anointment)

These are the exact ones I have on now. And it took forever to get them because the rolling system is a stupid slot machine basically.

And I have the same issue with pool party. I think the ideal one to replace it would be chain gang. it’s bright and polluting but it basically does nothing.

Honestly, what GBX should have done was attach life steal to Forge (and nix the Sapper COM) and give Rushin’ Offensive a speed boost. But they instead put her lifesteal on an extremely awkward skill to use because you literally need to charge straight ahead and get instantly slowed whenever you throw a grenade or switch a weapon mode. And it doesn’t work with Bipod weapons.

Isn’t this the one that increases enemies’ damage if they are grouped together?
I was aiming to swap pool party with dronge ranger, I don’t think I need even more visual pollution.

But I am not sure I want to waste some more hours rolling modifiers just for this exact combination to roll in front of my eyes.

Yeah that probably would’ve made more sense, and made Forge better than the mid-cap in bottomless mags.

No, chain gang just connects elemental beams between enemies that are close together. I’m not often in circumstances where I’m standing between enemies that are close to other enemies… Maybe that’s just me but seems like a strange place to be hanging out.

a cool way to do it would be “after taking splash damage, Moze gains X% movement speed for Y seconds.” that way it would at least be something that thematically fits with the character, and isn’t just slapping move speed on her because she needs it. maybe thats too restrictive though for requiring the damage to specifically be splash.

Perhaps on shield break? Forcing you to choose between slow tank and run and gun?

I laughed hard, stranger things have happened like the random in my coop today - stood in the mob and beams and I’m minesweeping the joint.

Sorry random guy whoever you are.

You could splash yourself (non innuendo) into speed? Curious tho I would have said I’m always getting hit by splash but maybe this isn’t actually true.
I like the idea

First thing she needs is an Action Skill since Mayhem 2.0 basically removed it on higher levels hahaha…

But I wouldn’t say no to some sort of speed boosts - obviously. That’s why I used to carry a Crader EMP-5. Literally used it to travel a little more quickly.

That was my initial thought. You take so much splash damage regardless of a splash build or not, between COV badasses, normal mobs with splash guns, and our own grenades and splash weapons/skills that its reasonably attainable.

The Cyro Orb can also be used for FFYL and if you have any ricocheting bullets. You shoot it and it slows down. It has a blue bar so a shock weapon destroys it insanely fast.

Oh I like the pool party with Transformer and Elemental Projector. The shock pool is free shield recharge while the fire pools ups my fire damage.

I want an extra speed with Moze but not crazily too much because it’a hard to control on maps where you have a chance of falling (maybe I just need practice).
