There's something realy REALY wrong with damage

damage seems weird… a lot of guns realy do next to no damage where other weapons just melt everything…

especialy corosive i think… corosive weapons do next to no damage to armor and shock/fire does normal damage?

just tried the needle (tedior gun from the event) due to it’s mechanic i could just hold the fire button… i shot ALL the ammo into a badass -> not even half his health gone. switched to an other gun, dead in a few shots…

the lob and the recursion, same deal… can drain my whole ammo and maybe killed 2 or 3 enemies in a big mob (where it should destroy the mob with a couple of shots)

i know it’s not me… i’ve seen a lot of people on the forum with simular stories.

I would have to agree. Something is weird. Quite a few of my weapons (pre m 2.0) seem to do very little damage while my incendiary Kyb’s Worth still wreaks, even through shields. Like you said, corrosive seems to do nothing.

Yeah, it’s rare to find a gun that does the right amount of damage. Most of them either melt or do absolutely no damage. I usually search for the former and get a lower leveled one to get a gun with the amount of damage I want.

just rerolled my mayhem modifiers to see if things where better without the “holy crit” modifier… damn most of them are trash… makes me miss the OP levels from BL2…

spent an hour rolling a combo that doesn’t turn this game into a circus

imunity shouldn’t even be a thing! can you imagine wotan with corosive imunity? or enemies with shield and shock imunity?

getting pretty bored with mayhem mode weirdly enough (i never actualy played M1-3 before this update… M4 was the most fun)
now i just want to play the actual game, with stronger enemies… with wich i mean, ALL enemies gain shield and/or armor and the weakness is actualy usefull (cryo is even less effective against shield but more effective against armor)

Yeah, my Unseen Threat at M10 does around 1m damage. I have seen 5-6m with my M4 Unseen Threat with 1/3 the damage. Not sure what’s going on.

OP levels>Mayhem 2.0 IMO

I have to agree, the new mayhem levels seem broken to me. I miss pre 2.0 borderlands honestly I may just be done until they patch this crap.

it’s normal, do you realize the obscene amount of health, shield and armor enemies have in m10? Only the most op weapons works. Concerning corrosive I don’t know it seems ok to me but I don’t use many of them. As for the particular example of Needle I think it is by design since it is a debuff gun they voluntary made it very low damage.

found the problem…

armor weakness is broken…

here’s a scenario where i noticed it…

the sub boss police robot (1 shield bar, 2 armor bars) i destroyed the shield with shock and switched to a night hawkin (was using this to see if it was worth keeping) and did verry low damage (wich couldn’t be because armor is weak to cryo) then shot it with shock and it melted him down… then an other enemy comes in with a shield, didn’t notice i had my night hawkin in hand and shot at him (wich odly enough… burned through the shield wich again shouldn’t happen because cryo is WEAK against shield)

so there you have it  GB done goofed up the armor weakness and probably some other stuff too hahaha

Maybe you can test this further on vehicles?

weirdly enough it’s not all weapons on all enemies…

for me it’s the deathspheres and the litlle shield bots in the even level that feel broken. or rather enemies that don’t have crittical hit spots (wich i still think is a stupid design)

and found an other problem with the buddy system modifier… damn crap can hide inside a wall… making it impossible to kill the enemy.

Not a new thing since release there has been tons of guns that do next to nothing and ones that destroy. Instead of truly balancing they just nerf what everyone uses and don’t address the real issues. Skills and characters the same way. You watch instead of buffing or making more items useful they going to nerf yellowcake and qpq system into the dirt.

I hope they have learned from their past mistakes with nerfing favorite weapons/items. They have been doing very good about taking better steps lately.

If 2.0 is the new floorplan, there needs to be a lot of fixes.

It’s not a mistake and it’s not an oversight - it’s a deliberate and manipulative marketing tactic.

New DLC/content comes with new guns that break the game and everyone wants them - youtubers advertise them as “god tier” and base builds around them which increases demand further. This artificially extends the ‘life’ of the game but also introduces massive power creep.

Due to this new difficulties and content are released that is tough to do with the weapons you already have and enjoy but guess what … the new god tier weapon that will make it a cakewalk is in the new content - often time limited or locked behind paid dlc.

We’ve seen it with the seeing dead, ion cannon, kybs and so on. Rather than addressing the issues with the VHs or existing loot pool it’s easier and financially more beneficial to create a item that plugs the gap in performance.

We then often see these same items nerfed either directly (ion cannon) or indirectly (new difficulties where they just can’t keep up).

We hadn’t had the second dlc for even a month when mayhem 10 and cartels blew the latest OP guns in there out of the water with the ridiculous OPQ and Yellowcake among others.

This is before taking into account anointments as well.

If you are struggling in M10 you need to go grind the cartel event to get the new OP guns … but don’t be surprised when you find yourself doing exactly the same thing for some new shiny this time next month.

I think you are giving GBX to much credit. Nothing in the history of bl3 shows them to be aware of what players want at all. I still believe it is pure incompetence, not some conspiracy to get your money.

Never underestimate greed  just saying. Also Gearbox isn’t exactly known for their incredible moral compass O.o I’m sure some of the workers are incredible people but man just having to lug around Randy alone is a burden I’m not sure can be overcome tbh.

I never said they were giving the players what they want. They are simply playing off some really simple but effective games psychology.

I don’t think it’s a right or clever way to do it and i wouldn’t call it a ‘conspiracy’ because it’s blindingly obvious.

The approach will net short term gains but hurt the game in the long run.

Edit: I too would like to think it’s just pure incompetence but there is absolutely no way anyone with half a brain could miss the many obvious issues with M4. I think it’s a combination of it being rushed and knowing they can get away with it.

yeah… allways getting that same feeling…

BL2 and BL:TPS felt like much better games… hell, i still feel those are superior to this one…

i also get the feeling they went WAAAAAY overboard with the visual clutter/■■■■■■■■ (and still adding more crap as we speak)

i’ll probably end up going back to playing BL2… i thought mayhem 2.0 would make me love this game again (got burned out, the main game is just so boring) but now 2 days later… i’m not feeling it… mayhem 2.0 doesn’t feel new… (GB leading up to it promised it to be better then anything… it’s just old mayhem 1-3 with more visual bullcrap)

and add in the weird bugs every time they rework the game doesn’t help liking this game…

oh well… we’ll be back for the next DLC, play for a few days and go back to other games.

Yeah, this has been a noticeable pattern in this game with event and DLC gear going back to Bloody Harvest.
Enjoy the DLC 2 items before the Fun Detector obliterates them.

For Recursion, if you don’t get the right angle so the shots have a clear path from one target to the next it won’t do much damage. This was true before too. You need enemies to be close and with no obstacles in between to get goo Recursion shots that will kill everything quickly.

I can tell when I get a good shot and a bad one by how many projectiles I see. If I shoot it and the disc disappears after a few bounces it was a bad shot. If I shoot and my screen lights up with discs, it was a good shot.

That said, there is something off about damage. It seem inconsistent against even the same guy. Once second you are doing barely any damage, then suddenly his health melts away, then back to no damage.

Hopefully it’s just some kind of bug and they fix it soon.

Lol the fun detector been silent in bl3 for a LONG time. I mean right now there is a god mode weapon for moze but its not fun its just a zerg. No strategy no aiming necessary just blow everything up(including yourself a lot) while having a seizure from all the effects.
