Gain 300% damage on enemies above 90% health: effectiveness?

I’m just curious what people’s thoughts are on this new anointment. Just thinking about it and after getting an Oldridian with this anointment it seems like this anointment would be really good on some weapons and really bad on others.

Is this anointment only good on heavy hitting guns like a sniper that can kill or dramatically damage something from full health or does this somehow also work on other guns like an SMG that shoot faster but do much less damage per shot and will not benefit once you cross that 90% health threshold?

effective on high dmg weapons <M4 or sth like this for 1hitting enemies

yep, best used on high damage weapons (krakatao for example)

like before you can get some pretty useless rolls (reload on infinity, shield break on rough rider, etc.)

and it should stop working once the enemy is below 90% health (not sure if this would work on shields/armor though… need to test this haha… if only the dummy would be better)

DEADEYE style things work as long as the BOTTOM BAR is above threshold. Ie. You get the bonus a damage against all of Traunt’s Shield.

I think I read that it is beneficial on mobs without health because it counts as being above 90% health for the duration but not sure if that is true. If it is…that would be pretty sick in DLC1.

Pretty powerful but somewhat niche. On one hand it’s great for any weapon with just really high single shot damage output, but it also just utterly wrecks enemies without a red healthbar (that does include Wotan btw)

NO STOP.
Everyone is getting this wrong now. It was a YouTuber making it up it isn’t true. It’s based on the final bar of an enemy (health, shield or armour) as Sammantix said above. It takes 2 seconds to test.

It is great on shock weapons to rip shields since it is truly only the red bar .

It works on melee! I’ve been messing around testing this on melee weapons and it’s kind of neat vs enemies with shields or more than one bar.

*only the bottom bar (no matter the color)

Thanks for clearing this up. I saw that YouTube video but was confused when I tested and didn’t see that happening.

So it isn’t just health, so this would be effective on Wotan even though his bottom bar is armor?

Correction, it would work in the first shield phase because the second shield spawn he is <90% on the bottom bar.

Is that Moxxsy ?

Correct, once he loses 10% of his armor in phase 1, the anointment won’t do anything against him until he splits up.

I saw he made a video yesterday. I never watch his videos, but I decided to watch some of this one. About 30 seconds in he said it applies to everything and I just closed the window. I should have know it was him spreading the false information. At least Thickfilaa made one to correct it.

I don’t even play Zane, but I appreciate his honesty to data validation.

i do think it’s effective, in term of its description . if it’s red bar NPC, u can easily to melt them, it did’t change after MH2.0. if u check MH10, it boost over 13000% HP,and have a higher resistance against elemental( closely immune), and so it’s effective in any fight before NPC’s HP(red bar) down to 90% . however, i think no many people really need such boost , that why it’s a good addon, but people would not farm all the drops which have such addon .

So it’s most useful against triple bar enemies I take it.
