Nah. I mean. I am sad. It’s kinda lame that there’s not a single way to melee this thing. Not Facepuncher. That’s not the same. I tried really really hard too

No. Red field the whole time. Even during big walky part. He doesn’t let you near him. It was immensely upsetting. I was recording and everything.
In dlc2 you can t punch the Heart and I mean it is physically impossible though it is standing right in front of you the melee attack don t connect, why can t I rip apart a giant bloody beating heart with my bare fists? 
Wotan I ve yet to try but he should be punchable? Didn t your friend running assstabbing fl4k already ‘punch’ him?

ok I tried it and though I can punch him everytime you are in punching distance Wotan knocks you back. I tried timing a Blitz but Blitz does not reach only the subsequent attack. It is an headeache even at the lowest difficulty possible. Either way there is the moment when Wotan splits in two and I don t see how to deal with it pure melee

I really wanted to put a Corrosive based white elephant sticky on that brain box bit. I white elephant punched a Valerie to death, and that was beautiful. But I couldn’t get my Freezesploding Amara to punch him. 
I was tipsy so I made this topic.

@sammantixbb You can’t use the 4 air jump tower thingies (I don’t know what to call them) to hit Wotan on the top side? I Have never tried it but assumed you might be able to melee it that way? There is no red “deterrence field” (LOL) on the top half - or at least I don’t think so.
That requires really good timing and the top half to play nice. I would love to do that to say I did it, but I also don’t know where toppy’s critter hitter is.
Melee amara for the win.

When I first saw the facepuncher I was really hoping melee would reach a next level of power in this game. Then I realised it’s mainly a way for them to balance the game around ranged guns and mostly ignore pure melee builds while giving you the impression you are playing a melee build. Can’t punch Graveward, can’t punch Wotan and damage would be lame even if you could + no new melee weapons in 2 DLCS… pure Melee is in a really sad spot atm.
Mine is a hybrid but I really really wanted to punch Wotan for the footage it was by far the saddest experience I’ve had in this game.

Yeh or something that does good multiplicative damage (250+) without sharing the name and colour scheme of a sex toy. lol.
I use to run a Hybrid with Breaker giving me Jab Cross. Then they broke Glamour and it just wasn’t the same.
Buttplug is 4SS4SS4SSIN’s favorite though!

Glamour is baaaaad
It used to not be. It used to actually work, now it makes the target not take any damage. I used it with TTB. I immediately knew when it broke because suddenly all the Bad asses in Slaughter Shaft were walking around like friendly NPCs.

Because grasped target and all targets go into friendly state, so nothing is killable. I did it once and damn near quit out for the day.
Now that you mention it, I don’t think I know where the top half’s crit spot is either, or if it even has one. I don’t remember seeing crit notifiers pop up when I shoot it.
I figured melee striking in the way I indicated would be pretty difficult, if even possible, in practice. I just figured that if you could do it, the top side would be the way.

I mean I walked up and smacked him during the double shield phase after I killed his minions.
I had to count on guardian angel to get back out, but I did it.
If you have knife drain it might be doable.
