I have never seen this in vanilla version. However in DLC2 legendaries are items of the day in the lodge.
It’s always been possible to get a legendary item of the day. Just mind-numbingly rare in BL2, more common in TPS, and (as far as I can tell) somewhat in-between for BL3.

I never saw one in BL3 yet, and I like checking machines for good purples. Will have to double my efforts, then!

Hmmm I’ve checked thousands of vending machines in BL3 and never seen one or actually have even heard of anyone seeing that till now. Hopefully it happens more now.

I always check vending machines and have never seen one. But there was an unanounced hotfix earlier. Seems every vending machine except for Crazy Earl’s is giving only legendaries right now.

Just ran in to this myself. All machines showed the same item of the day, which was the item at Earl’s. The machines all held legendaries, and there was nothing but legendaries.
Then my game crashed when my split screen partner checked one.
Even if it’s intentional, it isn’t working correctly. The item of the day should at least be correct.
Edit: it shows the item of the day from Earl’s machine if you check there first. I saw an Infinity with a white background checking the machines at Marcus’, but that wasn’t in any of them. Then I checked Earl’s and the the item of the day changed to whatever was in his machine for all the others.

Devil’s Razor is your best bet for console vendor farming. You can hit Roland’s Rest and Boom Town before save quitting.

When choosing a character, you get an option to Start Downloadable Content.
First I selected the newest one, Wainwright and Hammerlock. Played a bit of regular stuff, but didn’t go to the new area.
Logged out and back in on the same character and selected the Handsome Jackpot DLC at the screen for Start Downloadable Content.
Now, all characters (that I’ve checked) are getting 1 selection at the vending machines: a legendary of their level. Ammo machine still has ammo additionally. But, now the Lost Loot machine is not displaying any missed loot, except I was able to collect it on a lowbie character (level 8).
Floodmoor Basin. Travel between Reliance and Knotty Peak, get a couple chests to boot with no combat required.

well that s new, I check vending machine frequently for rare purple since game release and i ve never seen a single legendary

Yeah I just checked in Takedown a machine and it only had legendaries and only had 1-2 items total (all legendary). The nade one had echo 2 lol
