Spawning bonus projectiles?

Is there a thread that talks about weapons that spawn extra projectiles when using bonus element skills and anoints? With weapons like the kings call, the recursion, the rowan’s call, etc…

Also is their an official term for this that the community called it? Spawning bonus projectiles maybe?

There is a terror anointment to have a chance to fire an extra projectile, not sure if there was a thread on it specifically though.

Two things are at work. The way bonus elemental skills and anointments are handled is the game creates another bullet with those characteristics upon impact.

If you have a weapon that ricochets, what happens is each of those inherits the ricochet characteristic, and so each one does the thing. So if you’re Amara and using infusion, a kings call will spawn 6 projectiles on crit.

We just call them bonus projectiles.

There’s a lot of threads that mention them, but I can be certain that there’s any that’s all about them.

No I’m not taking about the extra projectile terror anoint glitch. I’m talking about when the select few weapons like the kings call, the recursion, the carrier, etc… are paired with an “on ase Deal bonus element damage” anoint, they spawn extra projectiles when you hit an enemy.

The real reason I’m asking is because I’m wondering if there is a list of weapons that can do this. The ones that come to mind are the kings/queens call, the carrier, the recursion, the rowan’s call, the wedding invitation. Not sure if they’re others?

Basically, anything that ricochets will do it, as far as we know. The Wagon Wheel should be hilarious, since that doesn’t require crits

So like any Jacobs weapon?

Yep, any Jakobs weapon.

Weapons that chain also chains multiple times due to bonus projectiles. So Brainstormer and Redistributor are also affected.

And for anyone feeling comfortable in their skins about this. The 125% damage vs badass/boss behaves just like a kinetic bonus element, and thus will also spawn extra projectiles.

Oooh that’s one I didn’t know about. Never would have expected that because it would need to be an on contact bonus, rather than when you pull the trigger right?

Correct. Far as I can tell it’s just ase bonus kinetic damage with a stricter condition. So anything said of other bonus elements apply here too.

It requires ASE? So weapon swaps cancel it?

Also, I’m guessing no, but does it inherit splash?

Weapon swap cancels it and it does not get splash.

You broke my heart.

But that’s still weird. It must calculate zero damage for the bonus projectile on contact with the wrong enemy type.

I had plans for the anoint before realising what it does. :sob:

I don’t think it calculates 0 damage as much as just not getting triggered.

So you think it produces a projectile on contact that instantly hits the same badass/boss?

I wonder if a ricochet on a badass with that anointment will carry the bonus damage to a nearby enemy that isn’t badass?

I wasn’t the one to test bonus projectiles so I honestly have no idea.

Fair enough haha.

Not sure what the easiest way to test this is for accuracy. I’m just more curious than actually ever going to use it. That ASE part ruins it for me.

Though it might be a good way to ricochet damage from a badass to the trash mobs around it.

That explains why my kings call spawned rediculous amounts of projectiles when I tried my Avatar Anara build(50% damage in every element type).

Im honestly confused why I never questioned it…

lmao

Does anyone know if the Tiggs Boom can spawn extra meteors through this mechanic? Looking at my Conductor Zane… Can confirm the Seventh Sense and Hyperfocus double up with the Conductor.
