I’ve been playing around with the idea for a co-op focused healer/support style build for awhile and would love to get some input and suggestions from the community here.
My current build: https://bl3skills.com/beastmaster#5050301330200000000000000535110033131, Action Skill is Rakk Attack with extra rakk and health return augments. Pet is Scorcher Spiderant. I don’t know where to put those 3 extra skill points we got today, I guess I’d max out Rage & Recover for thematic purposes.
For gear I’ve got:
COM: Friend-bot with +3 Barbaric Yawp and +2 All My BFFs, +weapon damage and some other ok perks–ideally would have a com with +5 BY but for now this is what I’ve got (and it
Relic: Elemental Projector Victory Rush with +149 HP/s and…other stuff I can’t remember WHOOPS
Shield: Brawler Ward with ASE +50% Radiation damage
Grenade: It’s Piss with OGT +25% anoint, sometimes swapped out with Tran-fusion grenades with ASE +50% elemental damage since I often forget to throw grenades at all lol
Weapons: S3RV3-80S-EXECUTE (ASE +50% Cryo damage), Zheitsev’s Eruption, Alchemist (for keeping shield depleted) 4th weapon is whatever I feel like using at the moment but if I’m being serious I put something like the Maggie or Dictator in case something needs to die fast.
I’ve only been able to run this for a few sessions but here are my impressions after playing through a few M4 Slaughter Shafts with a buddy:

It’s really hard to go into FFYL with this build and even if you do your pet can also tank through almost everything to revive you. My friend went down for something silly early in Round 5 so I figured I’d just wipe so we could start over and I had to crawl away from my pet because she was surviving literally everything they were throwing at her. lol

I am not sure what gets shared with your pet & allies. I THINK, from very limited use, that health gained from lifesteal is not shared with allies but might apply to your pets (???) But I haven’t really paid enough attention or tried to isolate various health regen types to say anything definitive, although my buddy says he lives through a lot more when he’s duoing with me lol.

I use Rakk Attack b/c I can switch to a solo bossing/MT build by swapping out the com and weapon selection, but I might switch to Fade Away since that triggers a flat health regen boost and piling on (consistent) health regen is the approach I’ve been taking. The variability of when Falconer’s Feast kicks in makes a bit tricky to apply when you want/need it.

I might try swapping to shield with an ASE +5% health regen instead of one with ASE +50% elemental damage, but I think the hit to DPS will be too much to make it viable (unless you want to be immortal maybe???)
Thanks for reading my wall of text. I wish I could give y’all some actual numbers or hard information on how health regen applies to your pet/allies but I am not a big fan of testing things properly, lol.
