Can we not do a level cap raise please?

Just handle skill points like they did in the Moxxi DLC in BL1, except in whatever DLC is next, just award a point after certain story missions, etc.

It’s their job to keep people in the game…
i get what you’re saying but it’s not possible.

Geabox and every SH ever made wants people to keep the playrbase interested in the game and keep the people playing it.

If you get rid of the lvl cap raise people will do exacly like they did with the Heist.
Play it > get a few legendaries > put the game back on the shelf untill the next dlc > repeat
The lvl cap raise will keep people playing the game and give them more traffic and pubblicity

It may be not fun but ehy…it’s how farming game work.

The real problem is how dated this game is compared to the series it is based of Diablo. D3 has Vendors and ways to use the effects of good items without equipping them. But BL3 has one method of upgrading in end game, go our kill more stuff. They need to change the Veteran rewards vending machine to allow you to buy a random legendary of a class of item and have it always be anointed.

Also having a way to re roll the anointment on an item or anoint an un anointed item. BL3 doubled down on hardcore farming which take away from meaningful character progression. There is a point in games like Diablo, Destiny, Anthem where the only way your character or build will get stronger is via RNG drops. The issue with BL3 is its decided to make most of the end game progression focus in on RNG drops. At this point GBX needs to to one of two ways. The currency and vendors direction to add more opportunities to get good gear via spending currencies earned while farming or increase the Speed and quality of life of farming any and all named mobs and increase there yield to avoid egregious tedium. I’m sorry but when the level cap increases drops and I hit 60 I don’t want to spend hours farming for my ASE anointed Shield and Grenade. Instead I’m just going to turn my Mayhem mode down from 4 to 3 until I get lucky.

I personally don’t really need more level (i wouldn’t have a problem with it thou) but i wish there was a way to decrease the amount of xp you get. I don’t want to be max level so fast…
Of course just optional because i know a lot of people play BL mostly for the endgame.

As long as I get more skill points. That’s all that matters to me. That said, if they tied them to quests, they might be walled off by difficulty. A standard level cap increase might be safer.

Too soon for a level cap imo, but I wouldn’t be against one when the game is like a year old. Would bring some freshness to game. But I hate leveling and having 10+ characters myself, it would be drag for sure.

Honestly… That’s the exact reason why I think that there needs to be a level cap increase, although it does not need to happen anytime soon. If the maximum level never rises the only shift in gear and character balancing will come from hotfixes and power creep, that’s just not a way to keep a game alive for long. You may not like the thought that you will eventually have to re-farm your stuff but if the game never makes you do it, you’ll eventually just lose interest.

To be honest a level increase would only effect farming specific gear again when you hit the level cap. You can redo all the missions on TVHM to get the mission rewards at whatever level the new cap is. Levelling up from 50 to 60 feels like a grind on BL2 compared to BL3 so getting to the new cap probably wouldn’t take too long.

I’d personally like another 22 skill points like before (so many more builds to try out) and that will almost have to come with 22 more levels. More skill points means more powerful vault hunters so at a minimum the enemies would have to level up to stay relevant. It could work in an Overpower type method, but I dont see that happening

Kinda wishing for a poll to see who wants and do not wants an entire level cap. For me I welcome new level cap so I can get more powerful gear and defeat capped out enemies. Best thing is more skill points too

If they play it right and introduce new anointments along with new interesting legendaries, with new interesting mechanics and synergies, then they will keep people hooked and interested.
If new stuff after level raise will equal to more damage and nothing else, well… I don’t know how long people will be willing to farm old items all over again.

I honestly still don’t really understand why you would want to reach the level cap.
As soon as you reach it the pool of viable weapons drops by 99% i would guess.
If i find a level 32 pistol it likely is bether than all my level 31 stuff. So it is viable even if it sucks compared to most other level 32 weapons. After some time, on max level, you will find a pretty good level 50 pistol which will make most other handguns obsolete.
To get even bether weapons you will have to farm now and it looks like most people hate that.
So in the end you limit the games variety and you force yourself to do boring farming so why do you want to reach the level cap?

They haven’t released on Steam still,…

I wouldn’t mind if they did it in the summer. Doing it in March as some have said, in my opinion would be way too soon.

I mentioned this in another thread, but if they must raise the level cap then let us use Eridium to increase the level of our gear. They can restrict it to a certain amount per day per piece of gear if they want, but let us level the gear we have now.

I did my run with FL4K pretty casually and got to 50 a few weeks after I finished the campaign. I’m running FL4K at TVHM now and also got Amara to level 20 something. I got FL4K to 50 so I can share it’s weapons with Amara and whoever else I run through the story. It’ll all be mute though as soon as they raise the level cap so I’m not really sure why I did it.

I’m ok with raising level cap as long as we can level up gear. Why would you want to refarm the same gear after they raised the level cap when you can just level up your gun?

If we raise the level cap without being able to level up gear, then once we hit the level cap and refarmed our gear the old way, we end up in the same spot as of now. The big difference is we wasted MORE time with this scenario.

What are we gaining by level cap and refarming gear? To put back interest in the game? No. The game should instead add new content with compelling story lines, new gear, new mechanics, items sets, rollbale anoints, jewel slots etc.

Fix the bugs in each characters. Nerf and remove glitches.

I’m pretty sure if they raise the level cap then the enemies will be raised to whatever level we are.

Now if they raise the level cap with a new tier of gear (better than the current ones), I think I’m ok with that, but refarming the same gear with anoints is a waste of time.
