Okay, WTF?

While the Phasezerker was her top COM at launch, it was completely eclipsed by the Driver. Don’t get me wrong I love the Driver, but WTF is the balance team doing attacking what is now the tier 2 equipment?

Gearbox is pretty much nerfing my desire to continue playing this game.

What the actual ****?!
The worst thing is that they know how they community would react so they say nothing about it in the patchnotes and hope it goes unnoticed.
Bad move gearbox, bad move…

Okay…does someone more eloquent than me want to make a topic and start to raise a stink about this in general? If I do it I’m just going to swear a lot…because that is BS.

If they did nerf the Driver as well, I am ok with it. If not, then they will have to really soon. I guess they did it because of the new COM. It would not have a place at all without adjusting CDR of the Phasezerker. I don’t care how much they adjust stuff, as long as we get long-term build diversity. Just think about the reasoning behind this change before starting to rant.

Nerfs are ■■■■■■■ stupid and they need to stop doing them so often in this game, ESPECIALLY in an underhanded way like this. You think people are going to react a certain way GB? Maybe don’t nerf things in the first place when its unnecessary. And very few things really need it, especially in a game like this. Borderlands isn’t about that lame balance everything BS.

I considered that it was done to make the new com more viable but I’m not really for the practice of making items equally underwhelming for the sake of elevating others. The fact that it was a stealth nerf doesn’t exactly encourage good faith either. Just my two cents.

I completely agree, and all this really does is make the Driver head and shoulders above everything else

This is truly a big fat pile of sh**, I don’t get why they nerf so much stuff in a damn PVE Game (except something is really broken like the Recursion).
They should start buffing all those insanely bad legendaries instead of making all the good stuff worse.

This is just going to make people ‘fakegrasp’ even more

They should first fix what’s really broken, the ricochet bug/glitch. After that, it may make sense to look what is still too powerful. But not before.

I agree, that they should have mentioned it in an official Patch Notes Post. The way they implemented it was not acceptable. I think GBX’s mistake was to release something as broken as the Driver in the first place. Because now people are pissed about these balance changes. And as it stands, when you adjust one option for Amara, you have to adjust the other options as well. I still run the Phasezerker and I am doing just fine. I have no issues in the DLC on Mayhem 4, the cooldown still feels ok and the legendary perk did not get changed at all. It is still a powerful COM for an Avatar Build.

I think you’re the one for the job.
Go get em

Haven’t played this game in a month despite still playing borderlands 2 up to bl3 launch and gearbox really isn’t helping to give this game the same lasting factor as the last. :frowning:

Driver doesn’t seem any different to me.

On to the meat of my post:

I’m not a fan on the nerf on this one. Really didn’t make a great deal of sense, outside of to make the new com shine a bit more, per an above post. But even that doesn’t make sense. The red text and secondary stats were the only things that really mattered on the Phasezerker. The actual skills boosted didn’t make a great deal of sense either, nor were they really impactful outside of maybe DOT duration. The new com has a good selection of skills that support the red text, or useful in general, especially having Mindfulness at full without needing to spec into the green tree. When it comes down to it, both of the coms support different point distribution and combinations. The Phasezerker did not need to get hit.

In hindsight, I think it may have been a way to counter Do Harm stacking, instead of fixing the com. EIther way, sillybillies

Yeah, I expect that’s what the purpose was. The funny part is that, as mentioned, it encourages fakecasting to make up for the lost damage and CDR.

Looks like this may have been the real reason. Because CDR is a big part of this class mod. So they wanted it to shine more. Still seems stupid to me, and not telling anyone about it is unacceptable.

Stealth nerfs should never be a thing. And especially without stating any reasons for the given nerfs. Phasezerking Ties that bind was the only build that i enjoyed on Amara and that has been thrown into the toilet now. Being forced onto a COM like the new one which is infinitely worse than driver just makes no sense. Bad move by gearbox.
