4th Action Skill speculation

There is some ‘evidence’ indicating we will get 4th skill tree and a new action skill some time in the future.

Mainly, their statement about developing existing characters instead of making new ones, and the fact that raising level cap without new skills would only reduce number of viable builds.

I was curious about the ideas and predictions in the community and wanted to speculate a bit.

Now, I saw a few ideas like jetpack, rocket boots or grappling hooks, and while these are certainly interesting, I don’t believe any of those would make the cut.

Jetpack would probably give unfair advantage reaching heights/ unintended places compared to other VHs. Rocket boots is a simply a movement enhancement that we have plenty. Grappling Hook kind of doesn’t feel Zane-y and I wouldn’t bet on this being the one.

My money would be on another duration-based gadget that is out there in the battlefield. I would say a spider bot, basically a walking drone. Why spider? Well, look at the back of your jacket, boyo.

It could be support / supplementary damage kind of thing, dropping ammo packets and shooting/meleeing enemies. Another function might be a walking mine (think Starcraft spider mines) In the new tree we could find things like crit damage for each active action skill, new kill skills of course, and maybe more shield regen / regain to supplement existing strategies.

And then they will buff the Techspert, making it work on both this and the drone! :slight_smile:

What do you think? What are your ideas?

I’d see more of a quick duration action skill as he lacks one. It starts and ends quick like Fl4ks Rakks.

TZR: deals shock damage draining shields (yea yea i know they are gun special features but,…)
TZR has 10 Second duration and 10 second cooldown.

Augments:
Zap Tap: When Zane hits an enemy his shields immediately begin recharging.
Electrical Burn: TZR also deals bonus fire damage.
Remote Charger: For duration target is tased, Zane gaines 5% movement speed, 10% sprint speed, and 20% slide speed.
Freeze!: TZR has a 50% chance to instantly freeze target on impact.
BOOM! Zap!: Firing TZR also fires a grenade.

If you miss, tough luck no fake TZNing here!

Tree should focus on critical dmg, grenade dmg, accuracy, armor pierce (extra dmg to armor units), and small passive damage boost.

Good afternoon, I’m new to the forum. Zane is my main, I will leave my opinion on Zane’s 4th skill tree. I would like a new game option for him … something melee, something like this: The tuxedo - for 15 seconds the zane gains increased speed, damage reduction, and 300% increased melee and an electric claw aura. This ability synergizes well with build cryo. The skill tree can have melee and electrical increases.this tree needs to get fewer hits per kill.I apologize for my bad English.

I like melee idea. Would synergize with frozen targets and his electric claw is pretty cool anyway.

I keep imagining a combination of this with a digiclone exchange. Too much chaos.:star_struck:

IDC i want a one pointer that unlocks extra dialogue when zane randomly starts telling his bounty hunting stories for no reason

I like the idea of palpatine hands. A somewhat mid range melee ish skill. So it synergies with synchronicity it could also activate a spike or nova shield while active like an electric flame of the firehawk. Needs a mid tree skill too that would be like anarchy or cloud kill that could help drastically help Zanes DPS.

A rework of nishas auto aim skill would work well with insane speed builds and ccc, not so much with the double agent tree though.
Nevertheless I think it would work well with the theme of an operator and have decent synergy.
I’d pay for that…

Even though, that might also be something that would fit in fl4ks trees…

Design-wise: Zane has that weird eye patch, so it could actually be not even half far fetched.

very cool, but the design is better on the FL4K. zane will get a 4th bauble. I just hope we can imagine this time and not come up with a turret for Zane.It would be frustrating

In the prerelease build website when zane was first announced they had SNTL listed as SNTRY.

Zane throws SNTRY on ceiling, swaps place with SNTRY, Maliwan Hound starts barking at Zane

Just give me a skill that let’s me perpetually slide. The Irish Ass-Slider build will reign supreme!

Maybe for the skill Zane gets a rocket sled that he can use to shoot around at high speeds.

I really hope its melee augments that Zane can equip to his arm, kinda like his electric claw thing.

They can be in different elements going down the tree with different ranges.

Make his capstone a melee buff against any enemy that is under the effect of elemental dot damage.

This will synergize with bonus damage to frozen from the green tree.

EDIT: This should also synergize with his speed and ability to close in quickly.

This way, you get 2 melee characters.

I hope a Grappling hook would be a version. Gret reliable, non terraindependent speedboost and using two charges on low cooldown like Rakk Attack. Great for mobility for clone swapping. Wreckingball memes with dome.

Would definitely like to see something melee related.

He has already all the tools to go with melee. Speed, Ice for 300% increase, the coolest melee animation, Barrier to get close, etc. Just no nice melee bonuses to make it do damage.

Call the tree 47 and change his melee according to his position.
If you’re far away he throws scissors dealing insane damage
Close up he uses a pencil.
From behind he uses a piano cord for an instant kill.
