Ever since I aquired one of these class mods, the utility of it is unparalleled. I usually feel at a loss if I’m not running it. I’m not saying it necessarily should’ve been exactly “taunt while gamma burst is active”, but some variation should’ve been the capstone for the master tree. A massive taunt in general turns the pet into the one-of-the best utilities in the game for the glass-cannon-ish/solo character. Besides being skill boost fodder, it makes the pet and fl4k seem really dependant on each other, which should be the core of the class IMO. Especially when the damage of the pet will most likely ALWAYS be non-existant without massively overpowering the pet, which would make normal playthroughs a steamroll.
I’ve theorized that making a taunt on ASE capstone (as a change for the garbage capstone in the master tree), even mixing taunt while gamma is active, would’ve opened up so many possibilities for builds. It would’ve opened up a lot of survivability for downtime in-between fade away, and constant taunt for rakk builds. Now for rakk/fade away builds it seems OP. However, without the invulnerability of gamma burst for your pet during its duration, you’ll have to focus on keeping your pet alive in-between. That makes the survivability of the pet an important part of gameplay for these builds. Then, if it had a feature where it kept the “while gamma is active” for JUST running gamma burst, you’d be more focused on cooldown when running gamma because of the invulnerability.
I don’t know. I’ve always thought a taunt would’ve fit nicely into the master tree, and fl4k in general. He has a augment that does it, but it’s not very reliable. It would’ve made all three capstones extremely potent and worthwhile. I think they really missed out making it a class mod instead. More pet dependancy/importance for rakk/fade away builds would’ve been awesome.
