Why is Zane's barrier getting rekt so much?

Maybe is the RNG, but I don’t remember Zane’s barrier to work like this. I’ve been two shotted several times through the barrier, which is something I don’t understand.

I am not into the “buggy things”, so, is there a known glitch that allows some kind of proyectile to trespass the barrier as if it didn’t exist?

When wearing your barrier, sometimes the grenades badass tinks throw can penetrate. Also vortex goons can penetrate. Also hack bots can penetrate. Melee can penetrate. Badass Tink turrets can penetrate. Heavy Badass jumps can penetrate. Deathbot homing missiles can penetrate. Pretty sure I saw an All Star penetrate my barrier with his baseball bat.

Bullets reflected can penetrate too. Shooting with a Brainstormer into one of those from maliwans takedown shield without wearing a transformer will result in the RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR sound that I hate and instakill you.

Noish.

I’m always wearing a transformer, no content in game that really makes me change that. I tried rough rider on Zane but like we just said there’s way to many things that can penetrate the barrier, it’s pretty much an instadeath when running into badass tinks and their turrets.

with last patch and COV projectile redesign for zealots they can shoot through the shield but since op posted pre patch only way you get damaged inside barrier with non melee attacks is if you jump. as of right now barrier is broken and there is ton of bug reports so hopefull hotfix addresses this by at least reverting zealots to pre patch state and properly redoing their projectiles for next update.

I doubt they could roll back COV projectiles with a hotfix, and I don’t really think it’s the best options since yeah it would “fix” Zane for the moment but would also bring back the old visibility issues for the other vault hunters. Considering Zane is probably the less played character, I don’t expect this to happen.

On the other hand, I really hope they’ll fix this by/with the DLC drop next week. One can only hope I guess…

I have the same hope but the realist in me recognizes that by now they’ve probably already submitted the Dec 19 patch to Playstation and XBox for certification. As a matter of fact I’m certain that they have because they announced the release date of the patch; and once the patch has been certified they can’t make any changes to it. But it is Christmas time and we all know how reliable Christmas miracles are so that’s what I’m pinning my hope on.

They actually can make some changes to the submitted build in cert, it just depends what they are changing. They can also get some contact and changes altered without going through recert.

Fingers crossed my friend, fingers crossed!

That said my supposition is that it’s already been certified because of a) there is public release date and b) how close we are to it. And it is my understanding that once a build has been certified it cannot then be changed. Is my understanding incorrect?

It depends on what it changes/touches. I know at my studio we often have builds through cert and update those builds without having to go through cert again to change/fix some last min found issues. Usually large code changes/functionality changes may require recert, but this also doesnt always move the release date (especially with smaller deployments like patches, dlc, updates). So while i dont want to get anyone hopes up, if something is found theres a good possibility that they can still correct it before launch, or day of with an override patch to the dlc

Too late! My hopes are now UP!

[UPDATE]
If my recently raised hopes are dashed prepare yourself emotionally because there will be much weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth!

It looks like they fixed CoV launcher projectiles piercing Zane’s barrier.

At this point, barrier is is no. 1 skill that keeps him relevant in all mayhem’s. The stand-out feature being near impenetrable.

If Amara got bugged and did 0.001 percent elemental damage, the forums would get spicy too if not patched quickly.

With the new patch that was released on 2/13/2020 it appears this bug has re-appeared.

From what I can tell the main culprit seems to be Valdolf Mini-Rocket launchers. COV launchers & other launchers are being blocked correctly but the Mini-Rockets pass straight through.

Can confirm this, same old bug. Ran Slaughter Star without incident, Slaughter Shaft had me running for my life. Badass Zealots were the main culprits, not so much with launchers, but rail guns. Toggled the Valentine’s event off and back on, no change.

If anyone, myself included, can record it then we can tag Noelle_GBX and also submit a ticket to https://support.2k.com/hc/en-us/requests/new that will help get it fixed.

Thank goodness, I thought I was going crazy. I could not figure out why my barrier was basically cheese cloth, when running through Lectra City. I was spending the previous two weeks or two at Maliwan or any place other than those stinking bandits and their stupid anointed goons.

I kept going through my skills, respec’d a few times thinking something got bugged. Then just about snapped my controller in half after I cleared a section and got taken out by a zealot, with full barrier and shield.

I’ll submit a ticket as well. This is very…unfun, I thought a stealth nerf came in with today’s patch.

Is Barrier still bugged/broke?

It is for me. Just trying to clear the Anvil is impossible for me right now. Between the zealot ripping through my barrier and the two anointed zealots, I’m not making any progress nor having any fun. I guess I shelve my operative until they fix this. I’m running out of playable characters, with all of the bugs and annoying aspects of the game, making FL4K unplayable for me.
