[GUIDE] One Last Thing Analysis

Hey everyone,
here is a little something on One Last Thing from Claptrap. I’m not going to post analysis here, but instead I will just post some things on how to get the most out of it. For those interested you can find analysis on the old forums here.

ONE LAST THING

The last round fired from any weapon’s clip gains significant Bonus Damage. Smaller clips reduce the bonus. Clip size for full bonus: 8

At 5/5 damage bonus is 400%, 11/5 damage bonus is 880%.
Can only be leveled past 5 with Sapper Class Mod.
For 11/5 and maximum damage bonus of 880%, you need a blue Audacious Sapper Class Mod.

Now compared to Salvador’s Money Shot skill, this works pretty much exactly the same on guns with no splash. Also unlike Money Shot, OLT gives bonus damage to all weapon types, including pure splash (Radius) weapons like Torgue barrel ARs, rocket launchers etc.
It appears that you get the bonus to splash damage on second to last shot and bullet damage bonus on last shot.
In theory this happens because splash damage comes after bullet damage and we get this bonus to splash damage on second to last shot because when the splash kicks in, the magazine shows 1 shot remaining.
On the last shot we get the bonus to bullet damage and same as with second to last shot when the splash is about to kick in, there is no ammo currently in the magazine.
Basically, you get the full bonus to both splash and bullet but spread out across two last shots. That is what makes OLT a special multiplier in the damage equation.

For the calculations of your weapons damage bonus for magazine size less than 8, use this formula:

1 + ((.8 - (.08 * (8-Mag))) * Rank)

Thanks @Sljm.

Taking suggestions for OLT weapons?

Suggesting the Casual Ravager with the Tediore Grip (mag size 7) combined with at least 3 points in Organized Guns (Mag Size increase) in order to push it to a mag size of 8.
At 4 ammo consumed per shot, you get OLT every other shot with the full bonus.
So, why the Tediore Grip, when a Jakobs or Hyperion grip would give you a mag size of 8 right away?
The answer is: faster reload speed. Tediore grip gives you a 13% faster reload speed compared to the other two grips, which results in more OLTs overall.
The Torgue grip would be the least desirable grip, pushing your mag size to 9, giving you OLT only every 3rd shot, plus being painfully slow to reload.

Haven’t investigated the mag sizes / ammo consumption of too many other Purple torgue shotties, they mostly deal less damage, but come with higher accuracy.

Have you read analysis on the old forums? Or even the analyzed data here? Actually you get OLT bonus on TWO last shots. With any gun with splash on the next to last shot you get OLT bonus to splash, on the LAST shot you get bonus to bullet damage. In case of the Ravager, the best one is either Sinewy (general boost) prefix for better stats overall - some damage,
OR
with Casual (vertical grip) + damage, - other stats.
For grips, the best are: Jakobs, + damage, - other stats
Hyperion, - damage, + other stats.
Why??
Because it puts you right at 8 mag. Ravager consumes 4 ammo, that means with EVERY shot, you will get OLT bonus.
On the Organized Guns side…
that skill is far away down the ILYG tree, and its not worth the skill points IMO.

[/quote] Fair point. I personally felt ravagers with the Jakobs / hyperion grip to be reloading a bit too slow for my liking, and since I went down the ILYG tree anyways for the particular build, it’s an okay tradeoff. Only other places I could have relocated the Organized Guns points woulda been 1 point in action skill recharge and a couple points in Wax On Wax Off.

If a player doesn’t go down that far in the tree, then it’s def. better to go with the grips you mentioned. Thanks also for the reminder about the Sinewy prefix. Ever since BL2 I got it stuck in head that torgue shotguns need to be Casual :stuck_out_tongue:

What about the Flakker? I use a casual with a Torgue grip. Would I be better off with a Jakobs grib instead?

For Flakker, always Torgue grip, no exceptions!

That’s what I thought. Thanks.

OLT has excellent synergy with the Plunkett so long as you do not miss a Crit on the final shot. It basically makes sniping Claptrap a thing.

I was wondering this too. Essentially that smaller clips (to a minimum of 8) are the way to go and that sniper rifles tend to come in around here.

I also was thinking though that explosive is good because he’s good at that, fast shooting/ammo consumption and faster reloads are then where you would focus.
