How BIG is your Big-Boom-Blaster (for those who use it / bloodletter/deathless builds...)

Hi :slightly_smiling_face: !

So far I was using a Front-loader with a big capacity and that could drop some health (or shield) boosters but they weren’t doing much for my 40k+ shield & 1hp. So it was big shield but too small regen…

So right now I’m trying an average sized BBB (the 60% shield booster is fabulous  ) but it only makes my shield be 22k (so very nice regen, but I’d like my shield to be a little bigger, coming from the 40k+ one above  ) so I was wanting to know if some of you were using BBB with the -10% health / +40% shield capacity mod/prefix and what would be the end result of such a shield.

Thanks !

PS : My spec is Bloodletter/Deathless with points in the orange tree up to 3/3 desperate measures and rest up to Forge in the green tree. I’m having extreme fun with it.

Also there is no way I’ll be using the transformer/shootmyfeet combo to heal.

So for now, it is Failsafe Front-loader, and trying Various BBBs, or if anyone has another idea please let me know  !

Use the spreadsheet provided at the bottom of the original post in this thread. As far as I know it is still accurate. Also consider if you are using Vampyr as healing will scale with total boosted or reduced health.

Edit: A turtle has interesting effects based on build while the shield capacity will increase reducing health could lower the amount you get from Thin Red Line. There are also anointments that increase both shield and health by 75%, but I’m not sure if it is applied before or after turtle.

@Prismatic I summon thee.

Thanks for the link  I’ll check it out right now.

As for Vampyr it’s out of question, I have 0 points invested in the blue tree.

See edit above.

Well actually i’m thinking : if I try any other orange shield from same manufacturer that has the turtle effect then it should give me a good idea of what a BBB would do with that same turtle effect ?

(also I dled the spreadsheet and got confused by it  !)

The spreadsheet is basically a way of testing how the rolls on shields and COMs effect health and shield. When I get home in a few I can take you skills and shield and place in and take a screen capture of it.

So as for what would affect the outcome :
I have 5/5 Vladof Ingenuity and 3/3 Thin Red Line (until I get a +3 desp. measure and +2 Thin red line bloodletter mod which is my goal, so far I have +3 Desp. and +2 Phalanx) and of course I use a deathless ( a loot one to get bigger heals lol) and with a BBB without Turtle i’m a bit shy from 22k shield whereas I was over 40k with the Failsafe Frontloader.

I’m just going to assume a generic 5000 capacity BBB and a 10% boost to health & shields from Guardian Rank. The BBB comes out at a capacity of 21 422.

If I add the turtle effect the new capacity is 25 365.

From my experience you’ll find the BBB will actually take more punishment than the Front loader in any prolonged battle.

Well never mind I guess. Got home too late.

I did it as well 5000 as an example, but for @FredericT, since you are looking for a different Bloodletter Here are those same stats with different Thin Red Line.

3/3 TRL + Turtle = 25,365 Shield
4/3 TRL + Turtle = 28,220 Shield
5/3 TRL + Turtle = 31,075 Shield
6/3 TRL + Turtle = 33,930 Shield
6/3 TRL = 30,843 Shield
6/3 TRL + Bonus Health = 32,556 Shield
6/3 TRL + Turtle + Bonus Health = 35,488 Shield.

Basically if you find a new COM with Thin Red Line, more value is placed on health boosts. Adaptive also adds +8% health I believe plus damage resistance. It’s all about finding the sweet spot.

Oh perfect !
Thanks so much.

And yes I’m looking for +3 Desperate Measures and +2 Thin Red Line.

Thanks also for the analysis on the health value, it sure will help too.

EDIT : now if only the Unstoppable wasn’t bugged (he drops zero loot atm) :sob: I could farm a few BBB, oh well…

I use a BBB on moze with double capacity accessories and the annointment with 75% health and shields after exiting IB. It about 6800 capacity on card, 30k something with a +2 in thin red line and other capacity bonuses through GR and skills, and 50k something after the IB exit. It has kept me alive as my only source of shield regen (using a low life instead of a bloodletter with a 3/2 desperate measures, thin red line) and it pretty tanky in the end, especially with not being specced into phalanx doctrine at all

EDIT: 31029 capacity base, 54784 after AS

I like the Low Life com, just found one yesterday w/ +3 desperate measures / +2 click click. Hopefully they rework click click so this COM can shine

I dont know if this is real or not, but I think they are reworking the skill. There were a couple screen shots from the new DLC trailer that had click click be a 5 point skill. I like the skill, but I think I’ve convinced myself the skill is better than it is

Click click works alright if you go forge with a blast master. Able to get armored infantry as well. Depending on your mod you can have a few points in Vampyr and add I think 2? Might be just 1 point. It’s a good way of increasing damage with forge because it’s pretty lacking.

When you start a game just fire your ammo down to half way beside a vending machine and buy ammo. Stays at that amount a lot better than just using redistribution for regen.

I tossed my +3 click click a while ago, I’d like to use it but blast master is overall better.

Furthermore, the lack of impact capacity boosts have on BBB means other parts have a greater impact on survivability. Absorption and reflect can get a lot of value. Power charges help your offense.

You can hit 50k easy with a bbb, The anoint of 75% health and shields is a must for that though. Try an alchemist with it, you ting yourself for a few miserable points and have a 60% chance for 60% shield recharge and nade.

Ha wow 50k !!!
So yes the annoint definitely gives more than the turtle effect.

As for tickling myself, I already do the awesome triple combo :

  • Elemental projector deathless
  • Pain is power or Embrace the pain COV rifles (both tickle tickle BBB and +90% Elemental projector)
  • BBB

Not perfect or insanely powerful but certainly ultra fun and positively more “elegant” than transformer and shoot my feet  !

(that also explains why my build goes up to Forge in bottomless bag tree)
