Why am I seeing so few operatives in the takedown on mayhem 4?
When it first released I was able to run into operatives at a decent rate, lately it seems very few people are using him for this activity. I feel like his barrier was extremely useful and I miss having the cover. Does Zane has trouble dealing damage to enemies and melting bosses quickly as other characters? Or is survivability an issue?
Damage is conditional, sometimes kill skill bonuses are not enough or when action skill runoff, you need to run-slide to survive until action skill can be reactivated. And even when you do everything perfectly, is for a short while and not that wow. Survivability can be an issue without the barrier and without kill skills (salvation).

My Zane hasn’t done the raid yet but I’m almost done with tvhm campaign so I’ll be trying him soon. I’ve seen a few Zane’s push high dps but they seem to need to be calm cool and collective.
I’m about to finish tvhm with mine to start the takedown with him and I started thinking a CCC build with doppelganger could take advantage of the new shield and grenade anointments and still have his natural uptime. You have 12 points left over after CCC and doppelbanger son it’s not a hard build imo.
if you spec into cool calm collected you do not have enough points to pick up zane’s main dps
For me, now I just run a support build with barrier and focus on freezing enemies and aiding teammates. Because I lack of good annointed gear, that also creates a vicious circle since I’m not able to farm effectively in M4 for annointments, and hadn’t had much luck in M3 (also I don’t play every day, 2 to 3 days a week maybe more if I can), so for me it’s support or get crazy fast and hope the bullets don’t catch you… I guess that if there’s more people like me, I can understand to not want to play like this, would prefer to level up a new character or use another one for this kind of runs (takedown and M4) which I’ve considered myself, but I’m a dreamer and loyal to the Zane pain xDD
Also, I tried matchmaking a couple times and on two occasions players quit, maybe for having to play with Zane in a team which sometimes can be a drag… I couldn’t confirm this, but it’s my best guess.
You don’t need much to farm Graveward.
A good Kings call, unforgiven or even Bekah specced into hitman tree and a decent class mod roll and you can knock him down in a minute or two on m4.
Maybe you’re right. Lately I haven’t been farming that much because I play less time due to work and trying to play with friends either helping them leveling up and other stuff.

Aside from his blue tree which I only put 11 into for my CCC builds, the second half of his skill trees all seem about survivability and quality of life.
Calm cool and collected is one of Zane’s best and most consistent builds and only actually sacrifices the scaled violent momentum damage because of not picking up supersonic man, violent speed, or sliding around as your playstyle. You could just put on a slide speed relic and get some of that damage back though.
Personally I skip Donnybrook and Sync both in my CCC build. I max Violent Speed and Momentum both, and I max Nerves of Steel which does a lot more then a lot of you realize. I do not suffer low DPS against COV in M4. There is not always just one way to do things and this way of thinking and talking about Zane detracts from his actual issues.

Good that is very cool, I also don’t use donnybrook, but I think synchro is too worth it. Also I don’t use nerves of steel, instead I use barrier anointments on my weapons lol. So I do know the value in those skills, I just don’t think it’s worth it for the small bonuses they add.
Yeah I run SNTL cryo anoints on all my weapons if possible (if I have them). Otherwise I do like a barrier anoint for it. I take borrowed time in my build because I only have 5 points left for that tree and for me it’s worth it to aid in keeping my AS up when I’m missing crits, instead of a bit more damage.
Yah usually my go to was always sntnl anoint for everything, but the barrier anoint is underrated by most. I only like it on specific guns, my favs are the maggie and crossroads. I just found out about a gun it’s insane on and works exactly how you want it to - the dictator. So I can’t wait to actually try that one out since I was already using dictator with ccc.
Yeah I been using Dictator with SNTL cryo, but as mentioned I take 3/3 NOS. It’s amazing for any tough COV mob. I do have a Dictator with the Barrier anoint and you are right, it puts all 7 bullets into 3 hit spots, its amazing.

My Zane uses a rough rider CCC build and it does great. Given the state of anointments and how barrier is the only game changing action skill he has for a team event. The drone gives nifty buffs and the clone can be great with certain guns but I haven’t seen them utilized the way I feel like they were Intended or atleast advertised. I’m beginning to wonder if using the clone as a bomb to take advantage of the vanilla anointments could give him the boost he needs to catch up with Amara and Fl4k in damage output, I would need a second opinion on that though as a Fl4k main. From what I’ve seen and heard his natural uptime can’t compete.
I woul like to add they fixed death follows closely so I’m sure more Zanes will be in the takedown soon.
I don’t recommend doing Rough Rider with CCC. You lose out on Confident Confidence and Adrenaline with that shield now that they fixed it. I recommend instead getting a low capacity high recharge shield like Band of Sitorak. Some people use a low level Mendels Multi-Vitamin which is actually quite OP.
okay buddy lemme explain then if you want to pick up donnybrook and synchonicity then you can not pick up playing dirty and violent violence if you want to pick these two then you can not pick the other ones. basically level 50 cap is trash especially for all arounder like zane none of the themes i have in my head can be achieved with current skill points and since m4 i can not play the theme i like either so i have to make a ■■■■■■ ass compromise just so i am able to deal with COV. which means hurr durr CCC so if i wanna stay in hitman playing dirty theme i have to give up spending even a single point in double agent, which means my main dmg source is violent momentum scaled of the speed i am carrying during a shot which is against high precision aiming yadi yadi yada
