So, I got Fl4k to level 42 or 43 and am playing TVHM. I have tried fade away build and a gamma burst build. I keep in mind that I don’t have any anointed (not decent) weapons or gear. I die almost any encounter. I tried sends my pet in first, fading away and blasting a Jakobs to kill regular enemies. Then die. I tried going on the gamma burst tree. Pop ga,ar burst, pet kills a few for me… I die. It seems so tedious and more difficult to me than even Zane. There must be something I am doing wrong. Should I just go back to Rakk Attack and spam the ■■■■ out of it hoping to kill stuff? Anyways, I guess as much of a vent as asking for advice but if you have a good leveling build, I will try it.

I remember using a gamma build for leveling using the great skag. It wasnt a DPS monster but I never died either. Are you on normal or TVHM ?
Edit: forget the question, you said TVHM. Have you tried using the ghast call grenade? That thing is great for leveling

The points on Hidden Machine are wasted, as far as I remember, that skill is bugged

I’d say go back to regular mode and run through the trials a few times to farm up some gear that goes with what you want to do.
Or get your red suit on and farm up a radiation dmg shrieking devil off of the banshee on nekratofeyo and go all in on the radiation plan.

If you don’t have any anointed gear or red fang I personally think fade away is your best bet. Cap out the Green tree an invest in the red tree for head Hunter to give you better cool down, if you’re good with crits spots, so you’re not running around endlessly during harder parts in-between melt sessions.
Late game rakks or gamma imo fade away needs better anointments I haven’t seen yet.

Put mayhem on 1 or 2,hop back to normal mode and just smash graveward. It’s the quickest way to go from level 40s to 50,and he drops decent amount of loot so as you’re power levelling through him your gear keeps up. Then go back to tvhm at 50.

Since Power Inside only works for 15 seconds after you activate a skill and Gamma Burst with Persistence Hunter lasts 29 seconds, I would say that capstone doesn’t do anything most of the time. And if you get shot a lot then Hidden Machine doesn’t proc either.
Maybe consider taking those points off and putting it into Hive Mind and Shared Spirit for more survivability.
Or you can use Burst Aid augment and get Head Count to keep Gamma Burst’s downtime to the minimum.

I have two blue SMG’s that recently dropped and have 65% bonus radiation damage during Gamma Burst AND they are Tediore so they are a huge help. Other than that, I don’t have any specific anointment’s for Fl4k. The COM I have just reduces Sic Em cool down and increases pet damage. The relic is a lvl 30 Hot Drop White elephant.
drop “hidden machine” in the green tree and get “rage and regeneration” 5/5 instead.
This should fix all problems you have with normal TVHM
Use a shield that gives max health so your health regen is worth more per point.
Look for annointed gear with lifesteal after action skill / lifesteal after pet skill (invest 3/3 in cdr for the pet skill if you find a good one) at level 50.

I would like to have it up as often as possible so I should probably get better at hitting crits. 
It actually seems to be going a bit smoother after taking some advice from this thread so I appreciate it. I’ll keep going to 50 and try to get some good gear.
I think it’s worth checking Earl’s vending machine on Sanctuary for Fl4k-specific anointed gear. You should have a healthy chunk of Eridium by now…
I’m trying to get some weapons with a “While gamma burst is active” anointment but am having terrible, terrible luck. I have also been trying to farm for the, I think, Red F4ng com so the pet takes all aggro while gamma burst is active. Is it just me or is there a shortage of gear anointed with Gamab Burst specific rolls?
I’ve seen a couple weapons with that anointment… there are so many, it’s a roll of the (big) die to get the one you want. I check the vending machines everywhere I go, which is where I find them.
I’m specifically looking for one on a COV weapon that’s also has a radiation element. A perfect piece would be an alien-barreled radiation AR with this anointment, but I’m taking what I can get here. 
What COM are you running?
I would need to check…its one that gives 20 percent pet damage. I do have another that mainly focuses on the hunter tree but neither of them really help my current build. Sorry, I don’t have access to my game right now. Will be more specific later.
