Can someone explain anointments on gear?

I’ve been looking for like 2 hours using Google and even searched here on Gearbox, but no luck. Does anyone know where I can find a definitive guide to how anointed gear works? I mean let’s say you get a gun that adds +50% “element” when your action skill ends… Does the gun have to have that element to add that bonus?

Example: You have a pistol that does fire damage, but has the anointment for, “On Action Skill End, The next 2 magazines will have 50% additional bonus Radiation damage.”

Questions:
Does it add Radiation damage?
If so, where does it get the base damage to determine what the 50% will be?
Would it be 50% of whatever the existing elemental damage is?
What if the weapon doesn’t do elemental damage?

What if you get the grenade mod that says, “On Action Skill End, gain 50% bonus Radiation Damage with weapons for 10 seconds.”

Questions:
Mostly the same as above, except… Will this stack damage types or should you make sure they are different?

I’ve seen other posts where people asked the question about having all four weapon slots activate on action skill end and wrong answers were posted everywhere based on someone’s opinion.

If weapon dmg is 100, bonus rad dmg will be 50.
Doesn’t matter, still adds bonus dmg

Except for the terror cryo anointment. You will not typically find the same type of elemental damage boosts on weapons and grenade/shield, so they can stack at times. i.e. the anoint that give the next 2 mags bonus fire damage will stack with either the grenade or shield anoint that gives 50% fire for the next 10 seconds after skill end. Anoints that won’t stack are if they have the same text as one another. Either way, it is still better in most cases to have different damage type anoints.

Probably a stupid question. Is the only anointed affect the one weapon you are using or all four are active at all times?

If the bonus is on weapon it applies only to that specific weapon. If on shield or grenade its applied to all.

Anyone know if that since BH is now over, are terror anointed gear the same as non-anointed or is there still some added benefit? If there is still some benefit, what is it?

Terror guns are still terror guns, nothing has changed, mechanics are the same etc.

I guess I don’t understand the mechanics of terror. I thought that you got it from the skulls, now there are no skulls. How do you get terror to apply to the anointment or where does it come from?

There is anointed gear with self terror mechanic. This to be more precise:

  • On Action Skill End, apply Terror to yourself every 5 seconds for the next 18 seconds.
  • Melee Attacks have a 25% chance to apply Terror to yourself.

So terror is actually a passive skill gained through the use of terror anointed gear?
