Anybody got a tube of caulk?

While farming Iwajira, I saw a loot hologram on a ledge that was far out of my reach. The area is at the back of the room, with the lava behind me and the exit jet right in front of me.

When the jet threw me up, I moved forward and penetrated the ceiling right beside the hole in it. This is a screen shot of the area.

I was almost able to propel myself to the ledge, but never could make it. Maybe with a different 02 kit that will double jump farther (I use the 3ddi).

Although I think its all small loot up there in the image above, I did observe a blue sniper disappear, never to return. It seems most likely to happen when Iwajira advances to the middle of the room before exploding. I hate to think of all the Thingys and Ferocious Hails that have been lost up there.

I think the devs were aware of these clipping issues and put a “dome” over the ceiling. If you watch the loot splosions, stuff disappears into the ceiling and then slides down the inside of the exterior wall. However, this area is below the ceiling and can trap loot.

I try to kill Iwajira by the lava now and not let it advance toward this area.

Interesting. I usually let him come forward a bit, just so there isn’t stuff spread out on the lava, and I have seen stuff go up to the ext hole in the ceiling then come down again. Never seen any get stuck up there, but then I’ve never made a point of watching for it every time!

That’s one thing that really annoys me about BL:TPS is when loot goes shooting off like that. Even opening money/moonstone boxes can cause it to shoot off into orbit. Really wish Gearbox would put in a hotfix to turn the gravity up (sometimes WAY up) on items. I would like to know how many moonstones/legendaries/glitched weapons shot into orbit when a mob dies only to loose site of where it lands, watch it launch into orbit to never come back down, or shoot off into a pit/off the map.

I learnt pretty quickly to always stand directly in front of money boxes. I also mash the “pick up all” button as fast as possible when opening the round ammo containers. Some of the “space” style crates are nice because everything is anchored inside them (the ones with the eletrcomechanical lids), but you have to be quick with the old style Dahl ones.

Oh I know, I learned that very quickly as well. Can’t say the same though for mobs that when they die, they kick their loot into the atmosphere.

Yeah, that’s a pain. It does happen in BL2 and BL1, but not nearly as much. (Yes, I’m looking at you Rocketeers)
