The new COM is great, don’t get me wrong. But it should probably be better balanced. My big issue with this COM is that it makes all of Amara’s other ones pointless. The Phasezerker was doing this to a lesser degree before the Spiritual Driver, but even it is rendered useless to this COM. I’m not advocating for nerfing it into the ground, but I do think that it should have a damage cap and the other COMs should be buffed.

Also the other characters need to be buffed lol

Thoughts?

Com’s just fine imho. It’s no pimpahab sal.

Personally don’t know why there is so much noise over it. Nuff folks saying M4 is too hard. GB give us mere mortals a com to make it do-able, we should be happy.

Plus it’s quite a rare drop. Farmed for 4 hours for just one.

Driver com making it too easy? Use a different com.

Game is due content in the future, prolly gonna have challenging content. Perhaps driver com won’t seem so OP then.

Amara’s other COMs are not very good, but the Phasezerker COM is still the best COM for mobbing. The Spiritual Driver is simply better for fighting bosses (as long as you don’t enter FFYL).

Is it too easy for you to solo the raid on MH4? How many hours would someone have to farm to find gear good enough to be able to solo the raid on MH4?

This. But the Driver COM won’t do it alone… You need to find a specific Shield with a relevant anointment, and a Grenade with a relevant anointment. You need to find a very specific Relic. And then you need to find extremely specific weapons with extremely specific anointments.

If someone in the Borderlands community took the time to do all of that, then let them have some fun on the Raid. But as a community, we’ve got to start ignoring the Youtubers… Most of us will never have all of the items that the Youtubers have (because they are creating them, not farming them, and some of those items are not even farm-able in the game…), so why do you want to reduce the power of the tools that we have to try to beat difficult content?

We should all calm it down on Amara for a bit.

There are now videos of people beating Wotan on MH4, solo with Zane in just over 5 min! Are we going to call for a nerf to Zane next!?!

For me the problem isn’t the com but the fact that you can activate it with a missed phaselock.

I play it without missed phaselock (expect when running to places) and while phaselock is on cooldown I get wrecked.

It is still 525% damage increase, just for moving at full speed. That is just a bit too much. The Anointments are pretty easy to get, just do some maps and check the vending machines. The thing that breaks it, like it did the Ties That Bind Do Harm interaction is the “Fakegrasp” glitch, which allows you to abuse the COM and keep the buff up 24/7. So, if they fix that and lower the damage gain to a more sensible level at max speed it would be fine. But right now, it is just broken.

Actually the idea of it, is pretty good in design,as it caters to a specific playstyle. I would never really want to use it, because I personally do not enjoy it. It is completely useless for a Jakobs setup. But it should be a viable option for players, that enjoy it .
