Playing Dirty + Double Penetrating

I just got this gun and looked up the prefix.

So it apparently fires twice the bullets, resulting in twice the damage - yay.

How does this couple with Playing Dirty?

Is playing dirting sorta wasted on this gun or do the bonusses effect eachother? And does that mean 4x the bullets?

The jury is still out on whether double-penetrating even does anything on the Laser Sploder other then less damage for 2x ammo. Playing Dirty usually just adds another pellet to multi-pellet stuff but sometimes it does double as well, for example my underbarrel Vred mortars shoot double the mortars with Playing Dirty. (I assume because it actually fires each time for each mortar in quick succession).

To start off with, every lazer-sploder does two hits per ammo used, and every three trigger pulls shoots a rocket. Getting the DP grip works the same as every other weapon for the beam - it hits twice as often, but since it is one beam, each hit is right on top of each other, so you can take it as a 40% damage increase on the beam. The rocket has the same base damage as the damage on the card, but doesn’t gain an extra projectile with the DP grip, so you wind up losing damage on the rocket because of that.

It might be different on PC but on PS4 it does literally nothing :slightly_frowning_face: .

Not that I’m saying you are wrong but just wondering how this was tested and if there is any video or other evidence of the testing? I only ask so I can be positive I know what I’m talking about when I relay this info in the future because it’s been quite a topic of debate.

I updated the post with a testing video.

@~29 seconds I do a clear basic shooting test on the dummy with both LSers, the single shot one’s base damage is 740, and the DP one is 518 (forgot to leave that in the video :slightly_frowning_face: ). I had 11.92 damage from GR.

The normal one is doing 740 * 1.1192 * 1.75 =1449 damage per shot.
The DP is doing 518 * 1.1192 * 1.75 = 1015 damage per shot, but you see double that damage because of them hitting at the same time.
