Has anyone successfully made a Mind Sweeper build?

Hey so I’ve worked out that I really want to utilise the Mind Sweeper. It’s honestly just pretty damn cool and the grenades it drops do a ■■■■ load of damage.

I’ve had a few cracks at a build in BM/DW with Lyudas/Shredifiers, and that works pretty well. I can manage the Heck Hole in M4 quite easily. Just having trouble pushing more out of it. Maybe I’m missing good annointments on my Lyudas (they don’t have any).

Has anyone else had a crack? It’s my favourite way to play Moze and I don’t want to fall into the trap of tediore chucking.

Do you think you cna post pics and share your build I’m very very interested. What kind of numbers are u getting from the gernade. I wish the gernade it dropped was your actual gernade mod that would really make it good in some cases

Yes, Mind Sweeper is probably the third most popular cmod after Bloodletter and Blast Master. It’s currently the only one that pairs well with a BM build. The micro grenade proc MoD and Vampyr I believe, which is nice.

I use it with Shreddifer or a burst Night Hawkin’ usually. I’ve killed myself more than once when enemies get too close and Torgue Cross-promotion procs.

For testing purposes, I’m using an un-annointed Fire Lyuda with a Mind Sweeper class mod.

My crits on the dummy are 10k and the grenade comes out at 38k. I’ve even had events where the micro-grenade crits (hitting 68k) and then a secondary micro-grenade procs from that, doing 221k damage. I did the math and the chances of that happening are under 1%, but even still. It was pretty cool.

Assuming all of the grenades hit and a third of them do crit, if we ignore secondary micro-grenades, which I think is reasonable, then the DPS gain from this COM is over 100% extra damage, on top of proccing MoD & Vampyr.

I will test how it behaves with iron bear, as I know IB can proc the grenades too.

Blast Master pairs better with bottomless mags.

@ajpamplin to answer yes. I haven’t tried it in M4 yet, but I made a good Mind Sweeper build that put one point in Vampyr for survival. The other part was getting a recharger and going down to Tenacious Defense with out getting the skills to reduce health. Get a high rate of fire gun like the shredifier be or a laser sploader and your good to go. It’s okay to reload and use Selfless Vengeance. Stoke the embers will buff everything fire. I’ve also done the same but ignored the DW tree and it was successful.

Thanks for the suggestion. Just did a bit of re-jigging and went full SoR and BM down to Some for the Road. Sure, I can’t crit with the micro-grenades anymore but the DPS of my gun went up about 50% and my grenade damage went up by about the same.

So that with my Re-Charger + Tenacious Defense might make a good contender for M4.

What is the micro grenade damage based on?

I think it’s just the damage you do with a crit + other grenade mods on your gear.

There was a post here Mind Sweeper, Mini-Grenades, etc that mentioned forumale.

i’ve been running DM/BM with mind sweeper in M4, havn’t stepped into takedown yet but everything up until M4 SS can be soloed.

Besides killing yourself constantly… It works really well with multi pellet guns. (Maggie, shottys, ect)

The base damage of the micro grenade is equal to the crit that procced it.

when i ran mind sweeper i found that the CoV pistols, and moderate pellet count high pellet damage shot guns worked best. the problem with some of the vladof weapons is that their base pellet damage is so low that mindsweeper really seems to fall short compared to weapons like the linoge, skeksil and hellwalker. both of the self damaging CoV ARs are also very good, and can take advantage of a projector relic without swapping weapons as well. i preferred Embrace the pain over pain is power, but either with a MOARR prefix would be great. the lyuda is still ridiculous with mindsweeper, again due to high pellet damage.

try and get a COM without torgue cross-promotion and don’t spec into it either. TCM will kill you. constantly.

Finding a +1 redist +4 FitSD is a current hunt that I am on. I really really really hate TCP.

Hmmmm I’ll have to experiment with gear. I’m definitely keeping the Lyuda, as you said, that thing shreds. But maybe I’m better off dropping Matched Set and using not just Vladof.

yeah, super shred, lucian’s, etc. were all super mediocre. Dictator was good, but thats because of the massive pellet count. i was running matched set, but thats because i was going for a jakob’s setup, using a maggie, hellwalker, bekah, gatlin gatlin, and a rowan’s for tough shields. the call pistols would also be amazing for mobbing if you’re good at consistently hitting crits, particularly against humanoid mobs with heads for crit spots, and would give you what you want from an elemental perspective. anything with large crit spots i switched to a linoge, skeksil, embrace setup (ie. GW)

MS was particularly useful for the hellwalker, as 3 jakob’s weapons with iron bank was enough to bump the mag size to 3, which allowed all ammo-regen abilities to keep the HW ammo from depleting as often. you can get 3 shots from a clip consistently, 4 uncommonly, and 5 on the odd occasion. if you had a mag size buff on com or relic MS wouldn’t be needed, though.

I Run a WTF Shield build. This is pure truth. Pure. Truth.

Define successful? I’m still out damaged/out tanked by Amara any day of the week but I have a Mindsweeper build that I like playing.

The above build sheet has links to videos in Mayhem 3 and here’s the build against Traunt in M4. It shows the danger of this build when you get too close.

I’m playing with different shields/artifacts/skill tree now to try to get her a little more survivable but its tough with only grenade healing.

i honestly feel like TCP needs a change. its definitely Torgue-esque, but it just isn’t practical. considering the amount of splash radius increasing gear we run, doubling the size of an explosion can cause grenades, mindsweeper induced or not, to self-damage the player from what should be a more than safe distance. downing myself with ghast call chucks from a distance that most guns start to sacrifice their accuracy was a very quick de-spec out of the skill.

i think it would be better if it had some sort of chance to increase splash damage at a low percentage rate, or have an effect similar to the headsplosion. maybe not the exact same effect, but something like immediately to the left or right of the initial target with a scaling radius and damage rate. 10-15% of weapon damage per rank maybe.
