Mayhem 4 is too bullet spongey

We need to go back to multiple modifiers, at least you had a chance to swap to another weapon and do damage.
Enemies and bosses just become pure bullet sponges now.

just dial it down to M3

You can do, but there are new legendaries that are gated behind M4.

Simply increasing enemies health bars is a super lazy and unimaginative way to increase difficulty.

There is nothing ā€˜mayhem’ about mayhem mode - where are the wacky modifiers? Low grav on any map, enemies with legendary weapons, giant bobble head enemies, new enemy types with new attacks, slags bursting out of dead enemies … I don’t know I’m not a dev but spitballing ideas is still coming up with better stuff than just +50% this and -50% the other.

I don’t want multiple modifiers back. They just need to dial health and armor down a bit. I am literally running out of bullets after my fist encounter with a group of enemies lol. And I have the best gear in the game with a rakk attack build which means my anointments are always up. I hope they dial it down a bit

It’s boring just having one positive modifier. You feel more pigeonholed into one playstyle.

I want new stuff man.

… That’s the point? The very point of M4 was to be extremely challenging so that the top player have something to distract themselves with.

Personnally I love it. No more ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  modifier randomly increasing or decreasing the difficulty, just plain challenge that force you to use the terrain and strategy against enemies. The only problem with this flat health/armor/shield bonus is that it increase the difference between weak ennemies and strong one manyfold.

Basic enemy finally feel like enemy, but annointed require a whole ten minute fight

Mayhem 4 is incredibly hard! Though its probably supposed to be. The amount of ammunition required to beat the enemy is insane. I’m kinda maxed out in terms of gear so survival isn’t difficult but holy moly I’m burning up all my ammo on just 2 or 3 badass enemies. Dont care if they lower or increase the difficulty but I need more ammo capacity than I currently have.

Even Flak suffer from some amno problem, with his full crit build, the more amno saving build in the game.

They indeed need to make SUD go higher with M4

Exactly - it’s not actual difficulty. Emptying mag after mag after mag into a single enemy is just not fun.

The loot quality decrease even on mayhem 4 is super noticeable. Wasn’t it higher before on mayhem 3? My guardian perks are still not working, but I’m trying things out and farming some enemies but I’m getting less than before. Kinda sucks.

If you don’t find it fun, don’t play it. Mayhem 4 is perfect for putting your builds to the test.

I just got 7 legendary from GW kill on M4(4 of them were class mods)… Who btw I can still insta kill with Zane no exploit.

It’ll be a lot more manageable when the guardian perks start working again. Think people get tired of nerfs and bugs. Can’t blame em.

M4 is 850% health and 1000% shield and armor, which is massive but can still be done.

yeah i agree. the idea that they take too much to kill. its not so much just ā€œhardā€ but more time consuming and just forces u out of ammo harder and faster than ever before.

That’s really the only way to increase difficulty without having to spend a ā– ā– ā– ā–  ton of development time on entirely new assets. M4 is fine if you have a high damage build and make accurate shots, or if you have ammo regen.

True but I would expect that development time and resource to be spent.

The end game is pivotal to borderlands (to any looter-shooter) and they have had 3 previous games to learn from.

Increasing enemy health and time to kill really isn’t the only way to increase difficulty (which it doesn’t do) it’s just the laziest. With the years of time spent and huge budget … I expect better than ā€˜mayhem’ mode.
