So, I was watching youtube videos about people killing hyperius in almost nothing by throwing tediore weapons at him. I’d like to know if it’s possible to make an axton based on that to play all the game, not only againt the raid bosses and if you could help me with it.
And the equipment:
-Fire/Corrosive plasma caster for damage and making use of the reload when I empty them
-Baby maker/gunerang, maybe a shock one for a good-against-everything ultimate badass killer? Could I use this for raid bosses?
-Swordsplosion, maybe? Might consider a slag weapon.
-Tediore rocket launcher for second wings
-Bone of the ancients
-Rough Rider
-Grenadier class mod (or you’re doing it wrong I guess)
-Fastballs
I have gotten higher numbers with my Tediore reloads by using a Veteran COM instead of a Grenadier one, but I think it depends on the skills both can boost. I recommend testing both of them out and seeing for yourself. I’d also take points out of Duty Calls, it just doesn’t synergise that well with Tediore. Other than that, the build looks good.
Well aside from the obvious ammo issues that you’re going to run into, you should consider the Omen and Blockhead for shotgun options and ditching the Rough Rider.
The best COMs for hybrid chucking/explosive builds are both the Grenadier and the Neutral Ranger. They add to your reload damage and overall DPS at the same time.
The gear I nomarlly use is a Plasma Caster for chucking at mid range and sometimes shoting, a Gunerang as a sniper rifle if it makes sense and any good gun with splash damage like the Omen, Blockhead, Twister and Swordsplosion/Ravager. The DPUH is good with this kind of set up, but chucking Gunerangs already eat a lot of pistol ammo.
Also, Torgue assault rifles are good for sustained combate and I do use them in the fourth slot almost all the time. Too bad I never found an Ogre to use with this setup.
For the shield and Grenades slots, the Antagonist and Slag transfusions are good calls.
From there I fill with I think I need. Personally, I put 1 point in Ranger to get the COM bonus and full spec Willing for survivability. If you want more damage, go with Battlefront, Steady and Metal Storm at 5/5.
@Eel37 Will try both class mods. I just got a really good veteran one!
@BookEmDano I’ll obviously run into ammo issues, but it’s worth trying the build Why should I ditch the rough rider, though? I want it so I can have pressure going as much time as possible and crisis management. Which one would you suggest me instead?
@l_gabrielcruz Neutral ranger only gives 45% (86%? with double neutral, I don’t know how it works) magazine size, is it worth the loss on grenade damage for the tediore explosions?
Where can I get the antagonist shield, or what’s the easiest way to get it?
I’ve tried it on Axton and it isn’t really practical. He has some of the best shield buff skills I think you would be better off with a Neogenator that will offer the same health buff but also a good buffer from initial hits, Elemental resistance, and health regeneration.
Magazine size gives more than grenade damage for Tediore Reloads, the True Neutral Ranger gives more than the Veteran regarding damage.
But you can not play only reloading because of ammo issues, so it is better to have others kind of buffs. This is why the Grenadier and the Ranger are better for mobbing and the Veteran for speed kills.
The Grenadier COM buffs your splash damage and the Ranger COM can buff fire rate, critical hit damage or reload speed while buffing your reload damage at the same time. Win win.
You can buy the Antagonist from the Seraph Vendor in Flamerock Refuge.
@l_gabrielcruz Yes, just tried it and veteran seems to actually be better. I got a double penetrating unkempt harold and corosive norfleet. These two can get me through the “weaker” enemies, while throwing weapons just melt super badasses.
What should I go for in an antagonist shield? Capacity or deflected bullet damage?
@BookEmDano I managed to survive pretty well (with the rough rider) while using moxxi weapons, but I basically ended up using a half assed gaige. I’m now using an evolution (can’t get a neogenator right now ;- and everything is going much better. Would a bee or sham work for him too?
Also overlooked for the Grenadier is the explosive resistance. Its actually a big deal since there are so many fast moving explosive enemies that you might not catch with the reload.
