What's up with VIP golden keys?

Just went to the Borderlands VIP page to pick up some more golden keys for the Borderlands remaster, and huh…can’t right now. The tile is dimmed, and when you click on it the dialog comes up without the redeem button.
And this has appeared

Huh? I can’t redeem more than XXX numbers of keys per “period”???
Why on Earth not? I ain’t hurting anything by redeeming keys, am I?
Just seems weird.

IMO, Golden chest keys are not worth the time considering chest items dont scale and Ive never gotten anything other than crappy shields from the golden crap box.

Are you sure you’re talking about Borderlands 1 (the original), that’s what I was talking about here.

BL1’s golden chest (which appeared after the remaster) is pretty good at giving you on-level purples in many varieties, I can usually find something very useful in 5-10 keys.

No worries.

And I agree on BL3, I think I’ve cashed in maybe 4 keys since it came out, really not worth it.
Particularly with the big shared bank available almost from the start (or from the start with a boosted character) you have good gear without the chest.
1st play through, maybe. Anytime after that, not useful,
