Question about loyalty rewards

Borderlands 3 Zane the Operative

So, I’m rolling my Zane through to level cap, using a pretty standard (for me) kit of Torgue and Tediore (for second winds and high burst dps), built to the capstone in the drone tree and working down the clone tree, currently level 40. The question is, because I have gotten almost as many loyalty rewards from Dahl as I have from Tediore and Torgue, do Zane’s action skills maybe count as Dahl weapons? I’m not sure if this is testable, or if it is how, but from what I’m seeing it seems at least possible that it is the case. Anyone else seeing this, or am I losing my dang mind?

I seem to remember the clone building towards all the Dahl AR challenges when I leveled Zane. Although I never did any proper testing so take this with a grain of salt.

Yup. You’ll get the odd loyalty reward from Dahl since Zane’s Holotwin uses a Dahl AR. The same thing happens if you have Fl4k’s Jabber equipped too since it uses a Dahl SMG.

EDIT: This is for the Gunslinger Jabber.

I’m in high 40’s (Level for Zane. :wink: ) barely got any DAHL loyalty rewards and only when I was heavily using them.
Confirmation bias it is I’m afraid.

I mean, it’s currently 3:1 in terms of folks who think they’ve seen it, so I think the jury is still out, but appears to be leaning in the opposite direction. Are you specced for the Clone?

I’m leveling Zane too and don’t see many Dahl rewards.

Same questions. Specced for the clone? What’s your load out? Over on discord I’m getting more responses in the affirmative, so I’m leaning toward the clone using a Dahl firearm by default. But this is open source data collection because I don’t necessarily trust my perceptions, so please keep the info coming.

Thank you for participating in my survey. I wish I could compensate you somehow. If your not using Dahl guns but still get some rewards I’d say that’s an indication toward the positive. I’m going to make sure I do all my mobbing with absolutely no Dahl arms for a couple of days and see if I get any.

That’s interesting. I didn’t notice it until I started using the clone, and didn’t start speccing for that until late 20’s. Until then it was drone and definitely wasn’t happening at that point. This is very interesting. I may just go back to early Pandora to see if I can get some definite answers.

Little update, I took Zane back to the Droughts and let the Clone do all the murdering. No Dahl anywhere in the kit, and got 2 Dahl loyalty emails. That’s some pretty compelling evidence in my opinion.

Been thinking about it while trying to sleep and…
I also specked in Double Barrel as soon as I could. The most DAHL I used (and the few rewards) was prior to it.
So I wouldn’t rule out that his default gun is a DAHL.

Nice find. That’s a question I’ve been asking myself if the clone kills counted toward the loyalty rewards. I guess we’re closer to a definite answer now. :+1:

Yep. My target build uses the kill skill capstone, pumps the red tree for nade regen and clone buff (so the clone doesn’t get the option of my piece), and if there’s anything left the cooldown tier 1 green skill.

That was the question that started this silly little thread.

It seems pretty definitive to me. The only thing getting kills was the clone, and I got the emails from Dahl. If anyone can think of another way to test I’m open to suggestions.

The Pistol Zane wields in his Skill Tree image is a Dahl (I’d recognize that gaudy camouflage pseudo military wanna be forest mongerin…I digress) so it makes a lot of sense.

If he handles the killing blow, that’ll do it, I guess! I gotta go look back and see if I have old Dahl rewards…hmmm. I think SpaceRobots had some they didn’t understand during Fl4k Jabber sessions.

Allegedly, I don’t know because it appears I’m saving FL4K for last and after capping Zane I’ve got Amara on deck, Jabber kills will have the same effect according to this kind gentleforumer. Dunno if you read the massive 15 posts before this one, but just in case you skipped to the end here it is.

I think it’s only anecdotal now for the Jabber phenomenon. I think my last round of overpowered slaughter proved it pretty conclusively for Zane and his holographic buddy. If no one checks on FL4K’s Jabber I will when I get there, but I’m inclined to think it’s the case there as well.

i had multiple dahl rewards, even when not using dahl so assumed that the clone had a dahl weapon.
